Yes I get that too but whenever I want to make a change to my account it asks for my password, actually most times I sign in now it asks for the passowrd and there is also a PIN for paid movies etc. Is it not a bit lax to let someone re-purchase prime after its been cancelled without either the password or the pin?
Probably just as lax as handing over a device to someone that’s not de-registered?

So lax security then. I know who it is, I still see him, he is a massive car nut and will be obviously looking forward to The Grand Tour, suppose I'll get grief for that too.

I am beginning to wonder what's happened to Amazon prime. A few weeks ago I ordered a DVD which was a prime item in stock - I ordered at 7.30 on a weekday morning but the estimated delivery was not the next day, but the one after that. In that case though, it did turn up next day.

I've just ordered something else - again a prime item, supplied by Amazon and in stock. Yet the delivery date is Wednesday! Hardly next day delivery which makes me wonder what I'm paying for. In fact, I've just mailed Amazon to ask them exactly that.

Funny isn’t it. I ordered something at Friday lunchtime and next day delivery wasn’t an option. Instead Amazon offered 20% discount (about £18) and a £3 Amazon Pantry voucher if I’d accept guaranteed delivery on Monday. Lo and behold the parcel turned up yesterday morning at 9am. I can’t remember ever having a problem with them.

What point are you making exactly, as I have summarised what you have said rofl
The first point I am making is that you didn't quote what I wrote.

You had to fill it in with your own fantasy.

Here's what I actually wrote:

A few months back I needed some new vacuum cleaner bags. I was willing to buy them from a store no-one a 15 mile radius sold them... So I just ordered them on Amazon Prime, got them the next day, job jobbed.
Its a case of Amazon having something that no store had within 15 miles... and I could get it delivered overnight.

Hey, but quoting what I wrote instead of what you wanted takes all the wind out of your poorly thought out argument.

As I said before, per delivery, I'm saving money over what things would cost by just going to a store to get them and I'm only talking about the travel cost, not the fact that I can get most things cheaper on Amazon.

You really have to keep an eye on the prices, its why I often keep things in my wish list before I buy them to see what the price does. They love showing you that this item is XX% less than when you added it to your wish list. They don't say anything when it goes up.

I bought a monitor stand for £15.64 on 31st August, today 27th November its £ 25.43. Ill stick it in my wish list until it comes down again.

Well, here's a novel twist.

I ordered 2 items which were delivered to Amazon locker at 3.21pm yesterday.
I've had no other email but just checked the order status - which now says it's late and might arrive by the 6th. The tracking details say it was delivered to the locker at 3.21pm yesterday - but then has a later update saying it was left at the sorting office at about 2am this morning.
I'm not at home today so it would be a 20 mile round trip to discover if it's there or not.
Called Amazon who also can't explain it but will look into it and call me back!
I should be able to check the locker tomorrow but it's a bit odd!

Amazon failed to deliver a package that would fit through a letterbox so I complained. They said it needed a signature as it was an age related product like alcohol, but it did not contain anything. Bit like not selling a glass to a 15 year of as they might pour alcohol into it. I complained and they extended my Prime for 30 days.

I'd never seen the PinPod before.

Would you go for that one?

or this:

http://www.hippo-box.co.uk/

I'm thinking of getting a parcel box installed at my house, the idea of a "smart" box that can accept Signed For Deliveries makes good sense. The PinPod looks a bit of a faff and perhaps not all delivery drivers will take the time to look up the Pin etc.

The Hippo Box looks smaller though. I want a big f***off box that I know will take any huge parcel me or my wife want to order.

Or perhaps any other options?

Have you thought about getting a butler or housekeeper who can sign for parcels?

Only issue with the hippobox is it only works once.

Say amazon deliver a parcel they shut the door and the box is locked so when dpd / royal mail turn up they can't open it.

These are good and a few of my customers have them, the only issue i have is they are fine for normal deliveries but if a delivery needs a signature then it needs a signature, no type of pin they supply can be used. If i signed the machine i would be sacked, shippers will pay extra to obtain a signature for a reason normally.

Has Amazon Deliveries turned to st around your area as well recently? It used to be really good, next day delivery but lately its been piss poor;
  • Managed to lose one of my parcels
  • A friend had someone elses parcel left on her doorstep for an address not in the area (shes not sure what to do with it, i said wait to see if Amazon contact her)
  • They lost the same friends BIL parcel
  • Items saying next day delivery but not turning up for 48 hours etc
Also regarding prime being more/less expensive - got some plastikote spray paint that was cheaper on prime than anywhere else on the net and cheaper than in the shop at Wilkinsons

Why don’t you tell your friend to contact amazon to inform them of their mistake?

Agree, the obvious right thing to do is to contact them and let them know about the mistake, not keep quiet and keep the parcel.
