I must admit I shop in Aldi quite a bit. I'm just amazed by what you can find there. A 3D printer for £299?

Anyone else found or bought anything you might not expect or are impressed by?

They don’t in our local one anyway

I think you should add a 'no haters' in the title before it goes off topic.

I'm not sure that's true. I shop in Lidl and their stuff is pretty good, particularly fresh meat. I've had a bit of bad luck with their onions but, aside from that, the vegetables are ok, too. I can't imagine Aldi is much different in terms of quality.

Prefer Lidl, not for price but on quality.

Bought some mechanics gloves in aldi they just didnt do the job. Bought some weed killer in aldi, the picture on the container showed killing weeds on lawns, which was what I wanted. the instructions said, in the tiniest font you can imagine, I had to use a loupe to read it, do not use on lawns.

Lidl is good, great bread, good quality vegetables, good cheeses. some wierd stuff like compressed air tools and jewellers files, but I end up looking round and buying stuff 'because it might come in' so I presume it works.

Some stores have started doing clothes. I havent sunk that low, yet.

+1 ... I don’t think the cost saving makes up for the awful layout, ludicrous queues and clientele (in any of the ones I’ve been in anyways)

We used to go all the time and loved it. You do get alot for your money. We recently stopped though and switched to The Food Warehouse (by Iceland). It's more expensive but it's just better quality stuff.

We found that alot of the fruit and veg was pretty crap in Aldi. On two occasions, two lots of grapes we bought had live snails/caterpillars/slugs helping themselves. It happens but it really put me off.

It also didn't help that, when we complained, all they offered in return was a refund of each product, at about £1.50 each. Great customer service there. Yeah, i think we'll just go elsewhere, from now on.

The horror! What do you believe they should've given you?

See that's were you are wrong.

I hate the big supermarkets as they are just too big, it takes ages to get round, the tills are slow, there is too much choice, Ok the store may be nicer to look at and there may be a whiff of fresh bread but to do a proper shop is stressful and takes ages.

I can be in and out of my local Aldi, with a weeks worth of shopping in 30-40 minutes.

Some things I can't get, but not much and I can whizz around JS with a basket for the few items and go to the self service till.

The most random thing I've seen for sale at Aldi is wheel barrow wheels.

We’re in and out of the big supermarkets in under 40mins with the weekly shop ... you’re just doing it wrong

If argue that the tills in the big supermarkets aren’t slow, they just aren’t rushed like Aldi

I've bought quite a few of their rib-eye steaks recently and they've been lovely. They often have some really nice red wines to go with them.
