The pitch at Old Trafford. Why is it raised causing it to have slopes just off the field of play? It means anybody taking a corner has to run up hill slightly before kicking the ball. Wtf?
Undersoil heating and drainage.
All pitches in the EPL have that ffs. They don't sit on a plateau like Man Utd's. Why didn't they dig down?

Maybe Old Trafford engineering contractors decided it was easier and cheaper to build up than dig down. Either way, yours is the perfect post on this thread - it’s definitely beyond reason being annoyed about a football pitch being raised.
perhaps someone has been secretly adding layers of soil to that patch of land over the years....

the plot thickens

'To continue, turn on device location.....'

No, fk off. Is there any way of disabling this annoying request every time you open the Google Map app...?
Yes, my Fitbit won't sync unless I turn location on. What fking business is it of theirs?

A change in the speed limit.
Lights changing.
Car pulling out in front of you.

All before your turn.

These off the top of my head. There probably are other situations,

I think you're assuming that everyone uses a map app in the same limited way that you do. If I'm planning a route to use on holiday, or just want to look at a map of Budapest or Ulan Bator, then my current location is totally irrelevant.
In other news, I'm annoyed beyond reason that the wrench I use for banging nails doesn't have a wide enough hitting surface. Clearly it is badly designed and nothing to do with me using the wrong tool for the job.

Just as an aside, Google Maps on the desktop doesn't require your location and is able to be used as an atlas. Or, better still, use Google Earth.

Google Maps on phones is designed to be used as a SatNav, which is why is requires your location.

(Usual disclaimers apply: I do not deny you your right to be annoyed beyond reason etc etc)

Ok, let me rephrase that. Google Maps on phones appears to me to be very much geared towards being used as a SatNav and doesn't seem to lend itself very well to being used otherwise.

Is that better?

Works fine for me and I've never used it for satnav.
