Why can’t they design toasters to match bread? It has to perform one function, yet most of them aren’t up to the task. Says a lot about the state of the world really.

I bet toaster designers are MLMs.

My toaster does pretty much the same, but it will take the bread sideways with a bit of shoehorning and swearing mad

Happens often. Utterly mystifying.

If ever there was a use for parliament, it's to stop this kind of sick perversion. Anyone manufacturing a toaster that won't carry a standard slice of bread should be pilloried.

And for that matter - why can't a two slice toaster only fire up the elements needed to toast one slice of bread? I thought we were all energy conscious now? Why do we tolerate only activating toasting elements in multiples of two slice slots? What about wimps who only want one slice, or heroes like me who sometimes want three? Why force the wasted energy?

As for rear DRLs, not so sure. They'd invariably be bright LEDs and could probably be mistaken for brake lights, or if there becomes so many of them, you'd probably miss when someone was actually braking. Best let the auto-light function control the rears IMH.
Or you could just use the tail lights?

We just bought one of these, you can do crumpets in it too as it has flexible sides and has good size slots

17 people credited... Could have been more that weren't credited.

Sorry you didn't understand the argument, I can tell you didn't understand it because you think it's formulaic. Being similar to the arguments of others isn't a formula, it means that we've noticed the same thing.

BTW, you failed to answer the question, how many people did it take to write Bohemian Rhapsody?

You're wrong. There are five writers on Bieber's 'Baby', Bieber himself has a 2.5% share in the performance royalties only.

Also royalty shares do not mean that the person wrote the song, it just means they've managed to negotiate some of the income. They could be session musicians, producers, maybe even the odd lucky engineer.

From what I understand (from a friend who is on the fringes of the pop music scene) is that a lot of songs are written in "song factories" whereby whole teams of artists and singer/songwriters contribute bits here and there to lots of songs, and the record companies then decide which songs might fit which artists etc. But everyone gets their credit, even if they don't get as much of the money as other people.

People who say

Would you do xxxx "FOR ME".

Like :- Put your card in a machine for me.

Sign this form for me, or whatever.

It's the 'for me' bit that gets me. Why do they say that?

I can see 5, where are you getting 17?

One person credited on Bohemian Rhapsody, as you say though, you never know who wasn't credited, so maybe it was 17, or 20?^. Trouble is though, Freddie is dead and took his talent with him. Shall we just stop writing songs?

You understand that you don't have to know it is a formulaic argument for it to be one?

^I don't believe this.

Slap the st out of the home help for not correcting the baker after the first discovery. Paint them green for the rest of the week as humiliation.

Unless the toaster is sold with specific bread size limitations then one should expect to be able to shove in a slice from any standard loaf and it be toasted in full without missing 25% of it. The slices illustrated aren't even that large. I've had loaves where the bread is 'taller' than those.
