Things that annoy you beyond reason...(Vol 5)
Discussion
When being given change, having those 'new' ultra smooth plastic notes placed on your palm followed by a pile of coins.
It's a race to crumple it all up before the coins goes sliding off all over the floor/counter.
The correct way is I hold my palm out, you place the change in there and then pass me the notes for me to hold inbetween finger and thumb.
Or I just pay using contactless is probably a much easier solution

Phoneco gives you name and parameters (age, region etc) to Spamco
Phoneco tells Marketingco to organise and scheduleTV add schedule/Billboards/Bus stop posters/shop interior ad refit.
Phoneco Sends Marketingco marketing copy and lists parameters of who they want it sending to.
Marketingco gives list of target parameters to Spamco.
TV co runs ads, Posterco puts posters up, Spamco sends texts out.
So a day after you see the ads, you get the text as a reminder to get your free iPad with your iPhone 9 for only 50 a month and £400 upfront
Stop lists will be sent out monthly to spamco to avoid fetch and delete runs being done too often, as there will be a cost per run.
The problem with that is that I haven't received any non-phoneco spam... It's all been "Recharge Eleventy Bajillion pounds to get 5p free credit" and "you're missing out on your 5p free credit because you haven't given us money".Phoneco tells Marketingco to organise and scheduleTV add schedule/Billboards/Bus stop posters/shop interior ad refit.

Maybe it's because on PAYG... I've already outed myself as being tight as a ducks butt.

When supposedly intelligent people cling to a mistaken belief, even in the face of overwhelming evidence...

What is pissing me off at the moment is people telling me something can’t be done without looking into whether it can be done of not . Talking about putting a ten year diary into a system.
Guy : can’t be done
Me: why not
Guy : system won’t accept it
I open a diary pick date of 9th February 2018 and hit save
Guy : oh it worked

Speculatively speccing up a car - ooh, the manual is a sight cheaper... and every possible option seems to mandate that you upgrade to the automatic gearbox.
What's the audio system got to do with a gearbox?!
Ah yes, I've seen this with the Toyota Land Cruiser. Manual only available on the base model, and it doesn't allow any options ( satnav, alloy wheels etc. ) to be specified Next model up has a large options list, but only available with an auto What's the audio system got to do with a gearbox?!

It has to do with production numbers... but it is largely bks and just trying to funnel you into buying what they want. What's the audio system got to do with a gearbox?!
This is why I chose a BMW... you can have the manual M240i with whatever options you like (although the options list was an exercise in saying "no" for me).

When someone points, the wise man looks at what the finger is pointing at, whilst the fool looks at the end of the finger. (In other words, I think Cotty might have been using a simplified example)

People who say that the Y2K bug was all a fuss over nothing because nothing happened.
It's like moving into a house with dodgy wiring, paying an electrician to completely rewire it, and then later on moaning that it was a waste of money because your house hasn't burned down due to an electrical fire.

i mentioned this in the gym topic but.. people lately who follow dumb health trends.
lately everyone seems to be spending £11 on some stupid apple cider vinegar from Holland and Barrett with the belief it's going to make people lose weight etc.. absolute bull crap and waste of money. the same thing can be achieved with an 80p bottle of apple cider vinegar from a supermarket or ANY vinegar for that matter.
its more annoying as i have 2-3 females in work that are spreading the nonsense that it's meant to work.

Sure its been done before.
But overnight Bitcoin experts!
they'd never heard of it 6 months ago, yet now they are experts and telling everyone that its worth investing in. Only right now it's just dropped from £20K ish to £6K ish. And I guess will soon drop to less than $1000USD anyway. It was less than that consistently before late '13
And everyone I hear talking about it couldn't buy any as they don't have that much money, disposable or otherwise, to buy any!
