The media's apparent inability to Google a picture of the correct type of aircraft for a news release...

In fairness, it does have a passing resemblance to an F-16. If you know nothing about planes. smile

(Obviously the air intakes are the most glaring difference)

Bit of a first world one.

Celebrities/TV/media people who never reply to tweets or comments on their FB page. I thought it was just me, but turns out its across the board.

Not stupid st like "I want to marry you" or "you suck at your job"

But recently a former TV commentator asked about a specific part for a classic car he owned. Several people answered (inc myself) He didn't even say Thanks to anyone.

Just about to press the Buy It Now button on ebay on an item that is also an auction listing.....and someone puts a paltry bid on. NOOOOOOO! Now I have to wait five days to see if it's mine or not. furious

Yes, I really hate that about eBay. They charge you extra listing fees to be able to do a Buy it Now, which disappears (with no refund) the moment that someone bids on it. For that reason, I will never put a BiN on an auction - my listings are always either BiN *or* auction-style, never both.

Likewise - I usually disable the 'best offer' too, as some numpty invariably makes a stupidly low offer which wouldn't even pay the postage cost then gets irate because you don't accept it frown

I quite like the Best Offer feature actually, so long as you get it to auto-reject offers below a certain amount (which it lets you do at no additional fee thankfully). I find it less stressful to click a "decline" button than to have to respond to unsolicited offer emails.

For stuff that I don't mind sitting there for months until the right buyer comes along (old computer kit, mostly), then "Buy it Now, Offers Accepted" works well for me. It does help that in that market, you tend to get buyers who know what something is worth and rarely offer much less than it. Plus I tend to price my stuff fairly too.

But I digress.

I'm still annoyed hehe The first bidder won't be getting it for less than the BIN price. Oh no siree, not if I am in reach of my bidding button!

Ebay can be a strange place - listed something with a start price of £10 and it didn't even get anyone watching. Relisted a couple of times, same story. Relisted a fourth time, dropping the start price to £8 - several bids and sold for £25 !

Yes, I've noticed that too. yes

Or you decide to drop the starting price to generate interest and it goes for a maiden bid. frown

Yup frown

And the number of times I've seen 2nd hand books listed for more than they cost new from Amazon - don't these people do any price research ?

Oh, and whilst we're having a moan about eBay, the fact that their listings search now includes fuzzy logic. Whilst it is nice that when you search for an item, you now get misspellings etc included in the results, what is less nice is getting a load of false positives too.

I am searching for "Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pen", for example, and am getting results for roller balls and pencils too, even though those listings don't even mention fountain pen.

Use a sniping app, enter the old BIN price, or more, and you won't need to be anywhere near your bidding button!

People who won't allow someone to get a word in edgeways in order to answer the question they are asking, because they won't stop asking the question in umpteen different ways.

Oddly enough I've lately been doing some packing in a book warehouse, where one of the customers is Amazon buying books at an agreed price - that is above the direct sale price advertised on the website of the firm I'm working for. So not even Amazon are above buying at the 'wrong' price.
