in very many parts of the world the whole concept of a shared meal involves sitting around a communal serving vessel, eating with ones fingers, and very often "double dipping" too. Yet that is entirely normal in their culture, whether it be in East Africa or Southern Iraq. So When it comes to using my fingers to scoop up a few chips from a terracotta flower pot and dip them into a pot of sauce sat on a clay roofing tile, then I'm OK with that due to my high standards of personal hand hygiene.
And it is extremely unhealthy. Ask a medical professional what they think of the practice.

A nice, quick, easy, efficient and simple way of transferring disease from one person to another.

How the music industry now refers to the release of a new song/track as a drop. For example, Arriana Grande is dropping a new hit song. Dropping nothing idiot, releasing it FFS. Now I see programmes on the music channel referring to this week's new 'Drops'.

Recently I have seen references to "dropping the mic" as some kind of statement, as opposed to merely being butter-fingered. It annoys me.

Two very different things.

"Dropping the mic" is not an accidental dropping, but a deliberate "I'm done here" thing when you have said something so show-stopping that all further debate is moot, null, and void.

Something like
"You don't know what you are talking about. Ask a doctor or read <this book> and they'll tell you different"
"I *am* a doctor, and furthermore I'm a specialist in that area, and actually wrote that book" (drops mic)
My favourite. This guy was cool.

Seems to apply to new releases of everything.

An online magazine I follow shares its 'Top trainer drops this month'.

Everyone wants to be seen to be 'on trend' these days.

The music industry has always used this bit of jargon, it's just making its way into common vernacular. In my little part of the music world we often talk about single use licences that are 'needle drops', i.e. dropping the needle of your record player onto a vinyl record. I imagine that a similar thing led to people 'dropping' their albums.

When Trumps booted out I see him going for the ‘spinning microphone around pretending it’s a willy’ approach!

Or him claiming it to be 'Fake News' that he has been booted out, and that he has decided he's bored with being the President and is leaving of his own accord.

Or him denying he spoke into the microphone, despite overwhelming evidence from the news outlets, the Russians and the FBI to the contrary.

I genuinely can't help having a bit of respect for Trump being a good sport with all the WWE antics.

when I'm reading a thread on Pistonheads and someone quotes the PH'er Sheepshanks, it takes a few fractions of a second for my brain to catch up with the fact it isn't my username or quote. Something to do with how we process written words in terms of how it looks as a shape, rather than reading each individual letter immediately.
