Fact:
The composer of the BAFTA award winning score for the film A Bridge Too Far (John Addison) was a Tank Commander in XXX Corps during Operation Market Garden.
Other interesting snippets on his wiki page too.
I'm racking my brains to remember a story about siblings who died more than 100 years apart and are buried in the same grave The father married young and had a child who died in infancy. A child from later in the marriage lived to a ripe old age.

-There is more freshwater in Loch Ness than in all rivers and lakes in England/Wales combined.
-The CEO for the largest international relief and development organization, Food For The Poor, is named Robin Mahfood.
-The first man to fly and the first man to walk on the moon were alive at the same time. Armstrong was 17 when Orville Wright died.
-Australia once lost a Prime Minister - Harold Holt. They've not found him.
-France has more timezones than Russia and the USA.
Edit, The one that I found the most mental: The record for the fastest moving manmade object is a manhole cover propelled by nuclear detonation. A bomb was placed at the bottom of a hollow column, 3ft wide by 485 deeom with a four-inch iron cap on the top. A camera trained on the lid caught only one frame of it moving upward, at ~125,000mph. It's thought not all of it would've burnt up on its' way out and, at 5x escape velocity, is well on it's way out of the solar system.

Holt, apparently, couldn't swim.-The CEO for the largest international relief and development organization, Food For The Poor, is named Robin Mahfood.

Re time zones, spent a bit of time in the states, travelled east from west. One Native Am nation didn't like daylight saving because white man, next time zone nation didn't like dst either, but disliked the other nation even more than white man. history of strong or stronger dislikes. Went from one time zone to another & back again in a very short distance.

Time travelling to the future is possible.
(All we need is a spaceship that can travel 186,000 miles per SECOND)
Not quite Time travel to the past is possible(All we need is a spaceship that can travel 186,000 miles per SECOND)
requirements
A vehicle travelling faster than light and the most powerful telescope ever thought of times a zillion!
Theory
Take off
you will then pass the light rays of your take off and then pass all the light rays from moments that occurred in the past when you left
You will only be able to witness them ,but not interact
To make it easier to understand ( i hope)
The light form some very distant stars is taking thousands of years to reach us, so what we are seeing now, happened those thousand of years ago
In fact some of the stars my have exploded and 'died' but the light of that moment is still on its way to us
sorry if it sounds stoopid but in theory, and only theory

It all comes down to Einstein's theory of Special Relativity and that when travelling at very close to the speed of light time will go slower for you than the people left behind.
Brian Cox explains it brilliantly but basically if you left Earth on a rocket travelling at 186,000 miles per second (or very close to), and was gone for 5 years when you returned it would be 50 years into the future.
