I suspect Beckham and POW are more famous than Maggie!
Well I suppose that depends on what age group one is chatting with!

I missed off Roland Gift who would be lower down the list!

And one of the Sgts from Bad Lads Army. Met him in a BMW dealership somewhere near Boston.

And the chef.... something Pierre White (Marco?) who cooked for us in Camp Bastion.

I have played football with young kids in the desert in Outer mongolia who don't speak English but who play football in (knock off) Beckham shirts from his time at Manchester United!

Met Arnold Schwarzenegger in a restaurant in Sacramento and shook hands. Very nice chap.

A couple of weeks later on a flight from LA to Mexico City, found myself sat next to Rachel Ticotin (Malina, sleazy woman in Total Recall). She was lovely and a pleasure to meet.

Gave Alan Minter a lift once. He was great. He stood in the back of my wife's convertible in a Rocky pose as we drove down the high street. 😀
Sat next to Patricia Ward Kelly, wife of Gene Kelly on a flight from Dulles to LAX. She was a very interesting lady.

Lastly my wife's Cousin, Ronnie Cope, ex Busby Babe.

Lots. Some that come to mind are:

Roger Federer
Serena Williams
Stormzy
Eric Bana
David Beckham
Drake
Usain Bolt
Mo Farah
Prince
Peter Andre
Katie Price
Jimmy White
Topsy Ojo

My favourite was Trevor Peacock who was in Vicar of Dibley. Met him whilst waiting for a train at Clapham Junction Station. He was sat on one of the metal rails that’s about 3 inches of the floor to stop people driving trolleys into walls eating a Cornish Pasty. Nice bloke.

Probably the most unfamous famous bloke was the bloke who did the gong at the start of Rank movies - he visited our school many years ago. We were told apparently the strongman who was filmed doing it, did not actually make the gong sound. This guy did it behind the scenes and the bong was dubbed over.

No idea if it were true or not!

This was probably 37 or 38 years ago - I remember being in the 1st year so age 11. It was some musical concert and he did some bonging. The movie bit might have been utter bks though. Just a vague recollection!
