buy appreciating assets
Rent depreciating assets
A common one but utter nonsense. Do people renting things commercially really kindly absorb the depreciation for you? Seems a little unlikely. Rent depreciating assets
The same applies to owning/renting a yacht or a holiday home.
Sometimes it is more financially beneficial to rent certain assets, rather than own them.
Here are the two key tenets I live my life by:
If you don't love yourself, you can't expect anyone else to love you.
This doesn't mean you should be kissing the mirror at every opportunity, it's more about loving who you are, which in turn allows others to love you.
Have a good time, all the time.
I'm not daft enough to think life's only full of good times, but there are enough bad things that will happen to you over the years, without you adding to it with bad decisions (or a lack of decision-making). If you're not enjoying life, change it; that is, whatever it is you're not enjoying (job, car, relationship, house, whatever).
In 41 years, neither one of these has let me down.
And now they are yours.
