Cycling cannot be left as is because too many people are doing it.

Cyclists are still operating under the rules and laws established when cycling was just a hobby practised by a few on the weekend. These rules and laws do not scale when cycling is used as a regular mode of transportation.
Indeed. There is a lot of cycle-specific highway development going on now.

This is a good thing, and definitely better than the hastily painted line at the side of the road that we used to be afforded, but the law still states that cyclists are free to use the road alongside as well as the cycle lanes.

I'd prefer this was changed, firstly because most motorists don't seem to understand that is the law in the first place and it leads to more aggression and secondly because the better the uptake of the existing cycle lanes, the more we are likely to get built.

why are so many cyclists so vocally angry? why do cyclists assume everyone who doesn't cycle is fat? why do so many cyclists act as if they aren't a car driver too?

Is this some sort of London thing?
Never see anything like this,I don't live in a city but never encounter this when I pass through the nearest one to me.

That's not an unpopular opinion, it's just a fact.

Bring back the Death Penalty, for Terrorists that have caused multiple killings and for child pedophiles and Murderers.

Radically change the Benefit system so that People could go to work on a low income and not be better off by not working.

Remove traffic calming speed bumps and stupid painted tarmac, and resurface roads to a high standard.
Any utility service that then dig up road will have a continuous duty to keep there road repair in top order until such time as road is resurfaced again(this could be years), so in other words, if the road repair breaks apart or subsides it is their duty to repair it, Not the taxpayer.

Introduce Law breaking Yobs (the type often seen on Police camera action videos) to do hours of community service, litter picking, clearing up verges ect.

That's a start!
Totally agree on all counts ... I don’t think they’re prticularly unpopular opinions lol

When people start talking about EVs and ICE, I get the mental image of corduroys and weak lemon juice. EVs should be cool, but the owners come across as massive bores., They are not saving the planet, they have no sound or passion, yes the motors are great but betamax never beat Vhs. (Well it was porn that won)

Indeed. There's no "war" on the motorist. At the most, there is a mild dislike, but no more than that.
Certainly feels like it though, bus lane fines, yellow box fines, lower and lower speed limits, speed humps and on and on..
There isn't a war, just a vast source of income that can (wrongly) be justified in terms of saving the planet, saving lives and keep traffic flowing.

I drive a Leaf. I don't care about the environment any more than a driver of a petrol car does. I just like the driving experience and the cost saving.

Since music was brought up earlier, here's one-

Angry white working class music is dead in the mainstream and only urban provides a voice for how crap it is at the bottom.

Not unpopular with me - except maybe the top one - The Death Penalty - as I believe we have enough expertise and ability to thoroughly investigate these culprits as to why they do such crimes - I am talking the mental aspect - and to see if there is any way we can improve society to prevent this sort of crime in the future.

When all investigations are done - off with their heads!!

Popular with tax avoiders and people who like free money from the Government, ironically. The EV is like the digital watch. Revolutionary.

Not.

I'm opposed to the death penalty because it says more about the brutality of our society than it does for criminal justice.

And because it doesn't work.

China executes approx 2500 people each year, yet still has a lot of crime. If capital punishment worked, that number would be decreasing. Indonesia has the death penalty for drug smuggling, yet drugs are still smuggled into Indonesia. States in the US with capital punishment have more crime than states without it.

So basically, it's sole purpose is to make bloodthirsty people happy.

Beyond that... a terrorist is someone willing to die for an insane cause... you would like to help them become martyrs? Hell no, every year they spend in prison serves as a warning to the rest that you cant win, not even in death.
