I just don't get it.
Agreed 100%
It's a lot to do with how old you are. If you had been around in 1961 you probably would get it.

I like the convertible, but the coupe looks very odd.

Ray Winstone, he's another. ' I'm from London, I'm well 'ard' . Actually, no, you're just an actor like all the rest, you're not really a gangster, you're just saying the words someone else wrote.
I think RW used to be a boxer so he may well be ‘ard.

I’m pretty sure I could kick Ben Kingsley’s arse though.
No no no no no no no no NO!

I think they look great, but are ghastly to drive. The early ones are border line undrivable. Woeful brakes, awful steering, and headlights no better than a luminous watch. That's after you've dislocated your spine getting into it. And not very quick either, certainly by today's standards.

Consumerism has replaced our religious feeling, we now worship at the feet of big brands, to make us feel worthwhile. Adverts just tap into this.

They were quick by 1961 standards.

It’s OK, our local corner shop breaks the packs down and sells the tablets singlely. Keeps the cost manageable. I pick them up with my scratchcards. smile

That's just a gateway though.

You'll all be on the potent, liquid stuff soon enough.

Reading some of the posts on the 'classics from the mrs' thread are baffling.

They chose to marry someone who is a bit thick and now post on the internet about it.

Olivia Coleman is just another jobbing actress and not a "national treasure"
When a rather plain looking actress gets top jobs continuously, it's unlikely that they are trying to fill their quota of hiring plain looking women. It's more likely she's a really good actress.
Also, jobbing actresses don't tend to win best actress awards Oscars. They are normally awarded to very good actresses.

Erm... because once upon a time, they were probably a bit hot (and the blokes were a bit horny). Eventually got one up the duff and now are stuck with her.

Sorry, not sorry, it is the thread for unpopular opinions.

My wife has made a few appearances on that thread, for the odd funny comment, like yesterday and me going to the Caramel Cup Final, but I agree that some of the things that some people's wife's come out with is staggering. I just would have never got together with a woman who thought that the sun went out at night, or that Australia was in Europe, or a stick insect is the result of an insect having sex with a stick. I don't care how hot she was.

Good grief. A whole thread of that sort of nonsense logic might be fun!

i don't really like people who push any kind of agenda... and also i think the vegan fad of late (everywhere seems to be doing vegan specials, food fairs are having vegan weekends and so on) is really tedious and irritating. However, getting annoyed with people who choose not to eat food because other people are starving... that logic is really fking stupid.
