Serious hat on.

Certainly, but it's a cruel solution. I believe it should be the duty of all governments to reduce the welfare state to the bare minimum, if not remove it altogether. The same on an international stage where the goal should be to remove ourselves from the lives of developing nations and let them get on with it, however to just stop the supply of welfare or charity now that we have established it is cruel. To do so dooms whole generations of people to poverty or death and while justified in a strictly utilitarian context it would take a true psychopath to endorse it. It's a Pandora's box that once opened is incredibly difficult to close.

Being born of feckless parents, and following their example is indeed feckless.

It seems that you are being racist by suggesting that Africans are unable to provide for themselves despite having a lower density of population than is typical of Asians who generally provide very well for themselves.

Who said anything about killing anybody?

The point is that the West throws money at charities, which after paying their own salaries, pass on some of that money to various African Nations, which do nothing constructive with it, yet continue to reproduce at a rate which cannot be sustained. Likewise, the idle, thick, and unskilled in Britain, regardless of ethnic origin, are financially rewarded for reproducing yet more idle, thick, and unskilled; for example, the Scheswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Glucksberg-Saxe-Coburg-Gotha family.biggrin What is the point? All it achieves is to impoverish everyone else. If handouts were stopped, the circle would be broken.
On a global scale if the handouts stop you get a humanitarian crisis which usually morphs into a migrant crisis. On a national scale if the handouts stop you create a crime wave and child poverty which just perpetuates the misery that you talk of but on a more extreme scale. As it is we try as a country to give kids enough of an education to lift them out of the misery their feckless parents brought them into, sometimes it works, often it doesn’t, simply switching the tap off wouldn't solve the problem.

We don't need to remove ourselves, we need to concentrate on trading with them rather than handouts which proverbially end up as transfers from poor people in rich countries to rich people in poor countries.

Liberal parenting has resulted in the world we have today. smack your kids, it will do them good.
I was beaten as a kid. And as an adult I'm pretty much a bone idle failure.

I never laid a finger on either of my kids, nor did the wife. They are both very hard working and successful.

So smacking your kids does no good, as conclusively proved with my sample of 3.

Absolutely fking pig sick of hearing this one. Nobody who proposes this ever seems to then take a machine gun to themselves and their entire family to help out. Until you're prepared to do that, shut the fk up.

That's a bit harsh. Maybe she decided just to have one child, for the sake of the planet. It's hardly her fault she finds herself having triplets.

Thankyou for proving that this is indeed an unpopular opinion. Removing just myself and my Fiance from the gene pool would do nothing to help. We need a large scale cull.

Oh, and you should probably seek some help for your keyboard warrior based anger issues.

Well yes, but I was more talking about charity. Trade isn't interference.

What I actually said was that the earth needs a mass cull via plague or similar. I didn't suggest that we hire in Nazi hit squads to filter and murder people. No anger in that, and it's an opinion based on the general exploding populus of the planet. No anger issues whatsoever. The whole thread is about unpopular opinions, these are mine. Opinions are like aholes, everyone has them. If you're that easily offended then perhaps you should consider reading something else. I hear the Beano is nice.

You want a cull, but it needs to be other people? If it cant be you would it need to be just strangers, or would close family be ok?

I didn't say it needs to be other people. If I die as a result of an epidemic then so be it. I'm not about to commit suicide to prove a point though. It's an opinion, not a cult.

For such a small opinion (seemed mild to me and the point of this thread), you really have stirred up a nice reaction, from machine gunning everyone you see, to, cutting charity to allow people starve and die, to killing yourself/family to prove a point, to full on Nazi style mass murder.

Bravo! clap
