Indeed, a trip to celebheights.com will show the discrepancy between claimed height and actual size.
Hollywood and the NFL are often accused of exaggerating dimensions for image and financial reasons.
Arnold was around 6ft2 you only have to see him standing next to other people in movies etc but look how small he looks next to Andre the giant and another guy who was rumoured to be over 7ft he worked with filming Conan i think. Now they are big lol.

It's a double-edged sword. When wedged in the crowd at the (queue Tommy Vance) Monster's of Rock Festival, Castle Donnington, 1988, I was grateful to be 6ft4 because that allowed me to breath air instead of halitosis, arm pit, stale beer and farts. However, when people stared chucking piss bottles around ...

im 6.3, 6.4 in my heels, but am a bit of a pussy probably, not that anyone's ever started on me or i've been in a fight situation, or one where i needed to intervene or anything.

It is often the case that the little guy is tough as nails, but thats a symptom of his height many short blokes have that chip on there shoulder about it and compensate by being muscle men or hard or just general cocks attitude wise. That said, there are many more who aren't - You get wkers in all heights.

Re. women on tinder its usually the giant ones themselves as they feel self conscious.

Personally i'm not attracted to really short woman is as the height differential is just too silly. (in attracted i mean having a serious relationship)

My mate is getting married to a girl who is technically a midget. Hes 5.8/9 id say, shes the max official height you can be to be classed as midget or dwarf (assume midget as shes in proportion) 4ft something i think. Different strokes...but he is a primary school teacher too so it could be considered creepy!

Anyway being short can be lucrative, we hired a midget in Vegas for may m8s stag a couple of years ago and took it to a pool party. It cost $125 for each of us (there were 6 of us) and that got us 3 hours with it. It came to a pool party with us, so got free entry to that, used our prime poolside day bed, and drank fair chunk of our booze tab, and got to hang out with us which was priceless. its not all bad...

edit. not

It does seem that height is something people have no qualms in making fun of. That said amongst blokes anything goes really, weight, height, features. We're all b*stards to each other really.

What surprised me was a Facebook female 'friend' shared a post which said, "What do you call a man under 6ft? Friend" which I thought was pretty harsh. Mainly as if a bloke had shared something referencing a woman's weight, boobs etc they'd have been hunted down!
It was a joke, I don't really like it either, but no point in feigning offence over it.

I would be reconsidering if I called that lady "a friend" any more though. This would be because I love a good racist/sexist/offensive joke, but know full well I need to understand my audience before using one. Someone who doesn't understand that is just being a twunt and I don't really need any more of those in my life.

To be fair very little offends me, I'm not short though so it's not something I'd think about but I did think if it referenced a womans weight, boobs etc. it would be condemned. More the hypocrisy of it.

Admittedly this friend is only young and tagged another friend in it. Also single and a bit fugly so not really in a position to criticise anyway haha. smile

It seems the consensus is somewhere around 5'11". How someone that famous keeps it secret is a bit of a mystery. There must be thousands of photos of him stood next to things or people of known height.

It's difficult to tell height from a photograph and easy to hide it. I.E. how short they made Elijah Wood look in the LOTR movies He's 5'5 but through clever camera tricks they dwarfed him next to a 5'8 Sean Bean.

Maybe but not one with him next to Chris Goffey so we have absolutely no idea what his true height is.

Nonsense. The last known record of Chris Goffey's height was lost at sea in 1988

Where do you want it to stop? Isn't it bad enough already?

What next, you aren't allowed to say you dislike people with odd socks on? People with grey hair? People who wear brown shoes?

What do you dislike about someone saying they don't want a short person? It doesn't hurt you, they aren't having a dig at you? They are just stating what they like and dislike in the context of dating.

Its sad that people look to find offence in pretty much every walk of life now.
Indeed it is; and I suspect it's causing more upset than the 'offences' (i.e. expressions of likes and dislikes) about which they are complaining.

Gee, it's becoming a very touchy world. We would do well to unwind a bit.

I am a short arse

Just under 5 foot 8

But my wing span finger tip to finger tip across my back is exactly 72 inches

I guess I forgot to attend the growing tall classes

But the lack of height does not bother me

Don't have much cause to discuss height, 6' is not out of the ordinary among my male friends and acquaintances in my age group. Some are taller, some are shorter, most are somewhere close.

The only person who brings it up is my Dad who's 6'2" rolleyes

I draw some consolation from the fact that when he builds a race car, he invariably has a battle on his hands to make himself fit (we both like classic stuff) and when he's finally reached a position which is just about workable for him, I slot in comfortably. At least that (and my 10kg weigh advantage) gives him some handy go-to excuses smile

'Which one are you then?' I asked.

He's an old man now. No doubt a few inches have been lost. But it's also easy to add an inch or three in one's prime as well.

I've been to Henley for the regatta once with a friend who rowed for Leander. It was pretty comical in the local Wetherspoons, never have I been face to face with so many necks and chests before.

On the subject of height, A lady at work was discussing how tall her teenage son was as though it was a real achievement on his behalf; "only 14 but he's already over 6 foot"
