Skinny Jeans - anyone succumbed?

Worn Topman super skinny stretch 26inch waist for the last 10 years.. they're not that skinny though
I do have various proper jeans and chinos but they're nowhere near as comfy as the super stretch
They'd need to be super stretchy to get my powerfully built frame into them. 26inch waist? Not since I was 14.I do have various proper jeans and chinos but they're nowhere near as comfy as the super stretch

Also curious as to whether anyone older than their early twenties has given in and gone skinny?
Dunno about skinny but slim fit - accidentally bought a pair of combats that I thought would be straight down but should really have paid attention to the label (and perhaps tried them on in the shop!). Was in the sale so only £10 or so wasted. Will wear them for a slightly smarter look.TameRacingDriver said:
I dont mind the idea of slim fit jeans, but skinny jeans look utterly tragic on any man, regardless of age, end of discussion. They are just leggings for men. Bonus points for having them hanging half way down your arse too.
End of discussion?? I agree in terms of spray on jeans, but skinny/slim are interchangeable depending on the brand. I'd rather wear skinny/slim rather then straight or boot cut.
My missus and the Diesel concession bloke in John Lewis insisted I get Diesel "Thommer" jeans rather than my normal "Buster", the Thommer are on the skinny side but they both insisted that they look great on but I feel a pillock in them, so consequently have only worn them once, £120, doesnt help I have put half a stone or more on since getting them either. Its strange as my missus usually laughs at me going for anything too young/trendy.
My sons mates tend to go for them, one really didnt have the figure for them (short/chubby), looked like an Egg in an Egg Cup, to be fair he has got taller and slimmer now.

Burtons "Stretch Slim" for me.
I'm 48 this year, and no matter how many times I get my old boot cut or loose fit jeans back out of the wardrobe, my wife always looks at me and says "go put the new ones on please". Size 30" waist, and I need a belt to keep them comfortable (yet 28" waist are a non-starter).
Fortunately my wife also looks fabulous in her skinny jeans so there's no need to worry about outshining her in the fashion stakes...

I have managed to amass quite a collection of Levi jeans (I regularly pick them up when I am in Florida), and always went for 501's. On the last trip I picked up 4 x 511 and they seem to suit me (I take it 511's are deemed slim fit rather than skinny?); now when I wear my 501's they seem really baggy!
I do some maintenance work in a "trendy" bar and all the staff have unbelievably tight jeans which are rolled up (or are short - it's almost like a uniform) and I have to agree they look ridiculous.

I like slim with a bit of stretch, not skinny. I am neither slim nor skinny though (not that I am hugely fat, but certainly carrying more than I should).
I find it an absolute nightmare to find jeans that a) fit when I buy them and b) continue to fit after a few washes. Recent ones I quite liked were Neuw, from TK Maxx.
