Has anyone done the DNA test(s)?

Myheritage and ancestry gave me vastly different results.
I did Ancestry one, the DNA map has changed a few times over the years. It now looks somewhat like I expected.

I did the Ancestry one and found I'm 39% English, 38% Scottish, 15% Swedish/Danish, 6% Irish and 2% Norwegian.

That was a bit of a surprise but much more of a shock was when I was contacted by someone the DNA results reckon is a close relative on my paternal side as my biological father's name is left blank on my birth certificate. I strongly suspect that's true as looking at his photo is like looking in a mirror.

My DNA results brought somebody up on my dads side who I know is my dads cousin so it does work somewhat.

Having populated what I know about my family tree into Myheritage website, I received a message from a woman in Australia who is a relative on my mothers side. In the 1950's one of my relatives emigrated there and continued their family, with this woman marrying into it. Frustratingly for me I was the one who could provide her with more information than she could provide me.

I was able to trace my wife's family back to the 1700's, but my wife isn't the slightest bit interested.
My mums side, her uncle moved out to Oz in the 1950's taking his wife and 2 young boys. He died in the 70's but his wife lived till 2006 and she used to come back to the UK every year for a month or so. One of their sons died recently and the other isn't so well either. We went out there in 2000 to meet them.

Their granddaughter who is a few years older than me came to the UK last year to stay with us, shes my 2nd cousin according to Ancestry. Anyway because her dad was born in the UK, shes now a British citizen, entered the UK for the very first time on a British passport.
My relatives that went to OZ, his wife’s sister joined them the following year. She had Christmas, New Year and her birthday on the ship. She arrived in Oz pregnant, possibly without knowing so when she departed the UK. Her boyfriend (and the father) was in the merchant navy and was due to join her later in the year to start a new life out there together. He then changed his mind and she never saw him again. He clearly dodged a bullet there biggrin Thankfully she soon met a guy who’d had a rough upbringing and took pity on her, they married and had a family which is nice.

Some of the relatives might have a chance at British citizenship then, my 2nd cousin applied.

Mother / Father born in UK, moved to Oz in 50's/60's.
Two Sons born in UK in 50's, moved out to OZ with their parents, have never returned to the UK.
3 Grandkids born in Australia, never been to UK - all 3 are automatically British Citizens, only 1 has claimed it though.
great grandkids - not entitled.

My parents were thinking of moving over there in 2000 between me going to high school and finishing primary, kind of sad they didn't but oh well.
