It wouldn't be British weather without uncertainty. Next week sees a low pressure trough sink south from Iceland. Where it ends up will be critical. It will be west of the British Isles. If it lands in the right place, and gets stuck, it will drag very warm and humid air up from the South for a period of time. Ireland and West Scotland will be more changeable, SE will be the most stable and hot.

I walked the dog at lunch just after our first 'shower' - so little rain fell, but with such large drops that you could see each spot on the ground in the dust
