Thank you sir. I did read that any type of accuracy further than 3-5 days was a bit of a long shot anyway.
Commonly known as a 'guess' hehe

Any idea how early? I've got to drive back south from Buxton that day.

ETA: not that it makes any difference, it's not like I can teleport to avoid the weather. hehe

The wind seems a lot stronger than the forecast stated. Just biked home and the gusts feel much more severe than 40 mph.

South lincs.

Been very windy in South Ayrshire today, trees down and a few slates off our roof, just waiting for Mrs pubdog to arrive home on ferry from Belfast.

I agree. Car seemed to move around on the road more than I thought it would.

Bit more action for the South today. And Sat.

Sunday is up in the air, models keep changing their mind on strength and location. Likely to be a low pressure system in the north sea...

Good signs for high pressure next week.

My 10 year old daughter is doing outward bound in Snowdonia, so I really hope so!

Heard the Weather Girl on GMTV this morning say next week might be ok once the wind/rain has gone over the weekend.

Ha! Cheers.... not.

Locals expect we will have a ste, ste Winter - meaning it'll be VERY cold and with lots of snow.
We had quite a lot of snow 2017/2018 as did most of the Continent.
Prefer driving in the snow (with winter tyres) than in the rain (with winter tyres).

When does this thread officially go 'dark' ?

Although there is still chance for one last blast of warm, these last two days, as far as I'm concerned, have heralded the onset of Autumn and Winter proper.

For East Berks / Maidenhead, these last two days have seemingly provided more rain than we had over the whole May to Sep period. But the biggest teller has been the temperature. Last night out on the bike (pedal) the Garmin Edge showed a low of 8.4c! It was lovely.
