Nice, we buy our meat from Manor farm shop and drink in my mates pub in Stanton Wick. The Carps.

Really nice here in the centre might be a TM re-run and today I am not meeting the wife so can drool to my hearts content.

It was pouring down - really bladdering down - on my way to work and six degrees. Just been to the bank and it's fooking freezing.

That's the thing I'm noticing with this "climate change" malarkey; it's not that it's hotter, colder, drier or wetter. It's that the temperatures are absolutely all over the place. From day to day it changes from really warm to absolutely baltic. I might be wrong and losing my marbles, but I don't remember this happening in years gone by.

I felt quite cold in bed last night.
So cold that I actually went downstairs and filled a hot water bottle.
Couldn't you have used the lavatory, like most normal folk?

Pretty much the literal opposite to last Friday. Lovely. Oh well, there's no chance of a hosepipe ban!

Tour de Yorkshire starts Thursday. Last few years its been pretty cold, and on occasion a bit wet. Forecast for Yorkshire come Thursday?

We had a fantastic show last night. First was driving from Wales to Tidworth, 8 TIL 9.30 massive lightning display all the way.
Then about 1am another big storm woke us up, constant thunder, no gaps between it, flash after flash after flash for about an hour. Then around 1.40 it all went crazy.

A really big flash accompanied by the biggest loudest roar of thunder ever. Power went out, house alarm went off, both car alarms also.

Took out the main breaker switch in the house.

Got power back on and killed the alarms.

This morning on checking, sky Q box is fried, Sky router is dead, telephone base unit is fried, no broadband, no telephone line signal. Sky micro filter is burnt out, plug bank fuses gone pop.

New router ordered, now sky Q box ordered, new answer phone and base units purchased. New mincrofilter fitted.

Still no broadband or phone line working.

However, my heart is still beating, noise of that one clap of thunder was so scary I thought I might pop a valve or something. Never heard anything like it. Even guns and tanks firing isn’t that loud.
Turns out the damage was worst than first though. Had to replace the tele and the PS4 also, both had hdmi controllers fried.

First time I’ve ever claimed on house insurance. Direct line were informed at 9.30 and paid out in full via e-gift vouchers by11.30. They didn’t ask for proof of ownership of any of the devices, just wanted model numbers.

Top marks.

It doesn't seem likely! 5°c on the school run this morning, and I got up for a wee in the night in the Lakes at the weekend and my tent door was frozen solid.

Plus it's a bank holiday. QED. biggrin
