Massive electric storm in Luxembourg last night - thunder/lightning and strong wonds for about an hour, then it absolutely pissed down, and strong winds continued for another coupe of hours.

(Notifications kept popping up on Accuweather that a "dangerous thunder storm" was happening in my area... as if I didn't know. smile )

An acquaintance was running a mountain bike race over the weekend. A few riders got caught in that storm, needless to say, they quit.

Enjoy the cool Atlantic rain tomorrow - I'm not sure when you'll see it again.

Everything pointing towards and extended warm spell. No hot at the moment, but warm is probably best!

Not that impressed. Starting to look the same as the previous few years pattern. Warmish daytime spells in April / May, crap June / July / August when the sun is high enough for proper hot stuff, and warm again in September / October as the sun lowers in the sky again.

Off to Valencia on Friday, not much hotter in the daytime than planned for the UK but much warmer in the evenings so at least we can get out without wrapping up like eskimos.

Definitely seems Atlantic. Bloody wet is more the word.

Agree this is the trend although I would also put June in the good weather category. It's been OK for the last few years. If you remember last year we had the very hot spell in June.

Agree it hits July 1st and inevitably turns wet and windy.

Today is a one off - from here the weather improves, mid-high 20s are on the cards by the end of the weekend and there is currently little sign of any breakdown and return to Atlantic weather.

I changed my winter tyres for my summers today, so tonight's frost will be my fault.

I do love it when there is some promise of better weather on these summer threads. A rare warm bank holiday!

Warm this weekend! Typical! I'm working in dark studios with frigid air conditioning.

BBC is seriously pissed. I can assure you it's not 29c and thunder just now.

ETA,

60 mins late it's showing a believable 14c BBC is all over the place these days, should bring the Met office back.

I've stopped relying on the BBC weather, anything beyond a day it's often wrong. Met office seems far more reliable.
