That looks broken!

Small downgrades on storms in the south tonight. Starts with Dorset/Somerset and then moves to Wales. Central southern areas will then see storms later on.

Could be a pretty sleepless night for some. This is the first 'big one'.

Notice the weekend of rain had changed by 6 or 7 last night. Expect a newer run on Netweather. Loud stuff predicted tonight but could be damp tomorrow.

Buying for a BBQ but it can all go under the grill just as easily.

To use a naff phrase, here in East Berks / Thames Valley it is currently FUBAR'd.

15c been raining and still spitting. Very overcast.

I'll be surprised if it gets to the 26c forecast today but the atmosphere (ground level anyway as I can't see up) is like a cool humid swampy sauna. Plenty of food for any storms to eat later, maybe.

.....Actually

The sun is now out and it is up to 21c, all that earlier murk was soon burnt off by the Sun.

Being in East Berks (Maidenhead) it seems that we are likely to miss the light show(s) later on.

Yes, looks like east of Reading any thunder will be a random storm rather than anything more substantial.

In the areas mentioned above, it could build up to quite long lasting and active storms. One or two tornados possible too.

Another take on it... As I said, today has the potential to be the first 'big one' of the season. I hope Gatwick isn't badly effected...

Really gusty here (NW) today, started from about 9am and seems to be getting worse. Blowing the opposite way to usual too from the east usually from the west so probably dragging warm air in from the continent.

It's been a lovely hot day here in mid Kent, although quite humid this afternoon.

The wind has now picked up, sky's gone grey, quite a hard shower, and the feeling that something might be brewing. smile

Chance of rain or thunder. It's impossible to predict exactly where a storm will hit.

A few distant flickers in the sky to the South West of Maidenhead, which will miss us and it has just started raining.

It is going a bit crazy in the Channel at the moment, looks like they may drift North West and also miss us.
