Chap any idea what the weather will be like in Bucks, chilterns next Thursday and Friday? Got a log cabin to build.
Good signs for high pressure next week.

My 10 year old daughter is doing outward bound in Snowdonia, so I really hope so!

When does this thread officially go 'dark' ?

Although there is still chance for one last blast of warm, these last two days, as far as I'm concerned, have heralded the onset of Autumn and Winter proper.

For East Berks / Maidenhead, these last two days have seemingly provided more rain than we had over the whole May to Sep period. But the biggest teller has been the temperature. Last night out on the bike (pedal) the Garmin Edge showed a low of 8.4c! It was lovely.
It's only people like you keeping it alive wink

This week will be dry and sunny by not especially warm. Frost possible tonight and tomorrow.

Puggit, can you help me out with a long range forecast for marbella, i’m getting married on the 29th and weather is sunny on some websites and on one it shows a few showers.

Your help is appreciated.
It's a touch too far out at the moment for any kind of accuracy. The good news is that I can't see any hiccups in the works at this point. I'll try and remember to keep looking.
Thank you sir. I did read that any type of accuracy further than 3-5 days was a bit of a long shot anyway.

How we looking Puggit?

Thanks
Weak high pressure, jet stream over Scotland. Current indications show a light wind from the East...

Easiest answer is the world's weather patterns are still recovering from the stratospheric warmings during spring. Nothing is how it should be.

Calgary has endured a freezing autumn.

At the moment the stratospheric vortex - the low pressure system that typically sits over NE Canada/Greenland and helps drive the jet stream (along with the Azores High) - is disorganised. So no low pressure conveyor belt, at present.

I doubt there'll be any more heat, either. Time for this thread to die!
