Midlands to Manchester more in line for today... South gets some respite.

Could be quite active again.

Hindhead & Haslemere area.

Nothing. Not a sausage. Unless someone came in and clubbed me over the head during the night and I missed it. Ground seems dry outside too so not even much rain.

Baffling. confused

I was watching the lump of weather heading my way, I could see it looking bad and the high level cloud and increase in winds over me got very threatening but I am guessing the quantocks and mendips had a part to play in breaking it up before it hit S Wales.

I appear to have slept through this completely. I'm pretty sure some of it went by this part of Essex as apparantly a house in Colchester was struck by lightning, but if the thunder was quite quiet then maybe that was why I slept through it. The thunder is normally the bit that wakes me up!

Dry as a bone this morning. Wouldn't know that we had torrential rain 7 hours ago. Was an epic lightning show. Apparently the south is in for more today.

Was apparently really bad up my way (Derby) in the later early hours, however copious amounts of alcohol made sure I slept through it all.

I moan that we don't get many storms here, then end up sleeping through the ones we DO get.

Haven't seen thunder and lightening like that before in the UK. Me and the Mrs went for a 1am walk to make the most of it - incredible!

Biblical rain in West Berks. Amazing lightning show too. Now all of the roads and pavements are dry again.

I can't believe how warm it was before the storm rolled in either. I went outside at about 9:45 and it was very warm. Still felt like 22-23.

Quite a few flashes in Oxford and some rain. Nothing like some of you though frown
Very hot and humid now though. I'm putting up a new shed and sweating buckets!

Absolutely hammering it down here in W. Worcs. Last night was epic, rolled in around 1am with lightning flashes that lit up the whole sky. The water butt was empty last night, and full this morning - that equates to around 20mm of rain overnight.

Was hoping to get out in the garden with the Arnold J Strimmer and attack the triffids sprouting up everywhere. Looks like I'm clearing gutters again.

The cat is most displeased and is looking at me as if to say "Either you get this infernal precipitation to cease, or I shall consume you in your sleep". Or she wants her tummy tickled, idk... tomayto/tomarto.

I'm sat on the North edge of Leicester watching the sky slowly darken as Netweather shows the rain creep towards me.

Birmingham looks to be taking a bit of a pasting.
