Haha I’m not sure I could be that bad at my job if I tried.

Still hasn't rained here - deffo 1 month plus now. Cars are all dusty and grass verges starting to die off. On the plus side, at least there isn't much grass to cut.

Will it be dry on 9 June in Solihull? Please let it be dry.

My wife is celebrating her 65th with a garden party and has invited about 8 housefulls if it rains

Brothers wedding on the same day, in a field. What's it going to be like near Southampton please?

Starting to feel like it. No, the tumble-weed infested desert that Aberdeenshire will be before long. Though I've just checked and there was a little rain on the 12th and 14th May apparantly.... don't recall that.

The current pattern remains broadly similar. Jet stream far to our north, high pressure to our NW, so broadly speaking fine, but it will be a wind from the E/NE, so cloudy starts to the day before improving and not hot.

Scattered light rain cannot be ruled out, especially early on.

Much like today.

Absolutely roasting on an airbridge at Bari airport. Waiting to board late easyjet plane home.

Looking forward to some cooler UK weather!
Where abouts did you stay?

I was at Borgo Egnazia 24th - 29th May.

Torre a Mare, just along coast from Bari. Very Italian, very much not a holiday area!

All good things come to an end.

Warm and pleasant weekend for many. Thunder storms reappear.

Next week, very likely that the jet stream takes aim at UK.

Spring finally arrives hehe

Christ almighty that's bad!!

Whilst not strictly weather related but certainly correlative to the ghastly climate, has anyone noticed how voracious and angry the mosquitoes are?

Round here (Worcestershire) the area is swarming with them, they're also ravenously hungry and the bites itch more, hurt more and one has just done me on the back of the knee and it felt like a wasp.

They're also active all day and night. Not just dawn and dusk. Went down to the compost heap this afternoon and the infestation was biblical. Voracious ravenous swarms enveloped my person; all that was missing was a decent oompah band and I'd have the full on Bavarian thigh-slapping dance down to a tee.

Yes - the mozzies and midges up here Rochdale/Rossendale are as bad as I can remember. Even though it’s boiling hot in the evenings you can’t sit out.

It’s actually rained for about an hour this evening for the first time in weeks - I can’t actually remember when it last rained. It’s already dried out. It’s great!

Main risk of thunder today is around Yorkshire.

Last really fine day before we start slipping downhill. Atlantic starts to take more of a role in the weather. NW will suffer most, SE least.
