Just ordered a replacement ceramic grill for my gas Outback - and a new charcoal smoker.

I'm betting on a long dry summer (oops...)

I was in Leeds on Wednesday - and there was a solitary flash in the sky, followed three seconds later by the single most almighty crash of thunder I have ever heard - it was like a bomb had gone off.

I was waiting for it and still jumped out of my skin.

Just the one though....oddly
Yeah i saw the lightning hit the ground a few hundred meters away from me, absolutely st my pants, then the crack of thunder. The sky looked normal enough too nothing evil. Bizzare

The first haar of the season rolled into my part of the NE of Scotland this evening. I suspect it's going to be just another typical summer here

Theoretically, there's only one way this warm spell should end (points to link above).

This is the wind storm which is bringing up (gradually warmer) southerlies this week. Yep, it's stretching from Ireland to Newfoundland, and Greenland to Medeira. Huge.

As you can see on the temp charts - NW Scotland suffering while most of England goes shirtless in the beer garden:

Bloody typical! Will keep an eye on things.
Yeah, typical that I'm leaving my day job in the City and going to Scotland for Thurs-Friday.

Still, Edinburgh isn't looking *too* bad.

The lawn is due its first cut of the year. This weekend seems pretty likely!

Different definitions of overdue... wink

In fairness it's hardly grown, but it will need going over twice.

Still waiting to do the first cut in Leeds, it's been so wet we haven't been able to get out and do it, it's thick long and lush.

I want to know why it's always the case round here that it rains on Sunday and Mondays are almost guaranteed to be sunny, i'm thinking of keeping a weather diary to prove how frequent this is.
