April temperature record is 29.4 on 16th April 1949.

Arome weather charts predict that could be broken in London or the usual parts of Essex/Kent that heat up.

Any rain in the south this weekend will be thundery downpours.

Next week sees a north/south split, the south holding on to some warmth (not as warm) - the Atlantic in control in the north. So South and East will be better than North and West, as is often the way.

27.9 in Northolt - at least an hour of cooking to go... Now the hottest April since 1949.

So is mine and in constant use (when the horizontal sunshine allows), smoking or BBQ (OK, not as good a smoker as the above but xmas dinner was superb).

Perfect day

Spot of pruning, clearing, digging, planting.

Take the SL out in leafy Warwickshire, lunch, natter and pint.

Now mid 20s. Flopped about in a shady spot, listening to tractors and a biplane, glider soaring in the 'Aigues-Mortes' blue. Glass of red, dog beast flaked out, wife beast preparing a salad Nicoise for later And to top it all, poking it's head out, my 1st bluebell of the season by my chair.
