There is a weather warning for the SE tomorrow for storms. But it's a little flaky. Not sure where talk of the supercell has come from, and to be honest with the ground so hard, you really don't want to see one.

Exciting times perhaps. Better go and get the dog's diazepam back from the dog sitter!

Work forecast tomorrow has the tops at FL280 which isn’t particularly high. They do get it wrong though so we’ll see!

Do you find they work?
My dog is terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks.

I'm looking at my shaded thermometer as I type (also with the sun in or behind a cloud) at 29.1c here in the Thames Valley / East Berks. Seems I am also unlucky enough to live in a hot-spot. Feels like we are living in Spain! Not nice.
Current highest official readings are 27 degrees in West London and Gatwick-ish. I'd suggest you need a new thermometer biggrin
Mine obviously isn't official nor inside a Stephensons screen but seems to be situated in a micro-hotspot.

To be honest, he's only had one dose. There were some storms a while back. Turned out to be only around 5 claps of thunder, so it's a weak results pool - but it did help!

Band of rain pushing south east across the NW.

Small system pushing up from France in to Kent.

Sandwich...?

Humid today mad

Any chance of some nice dry heat?

Is this storm actually on for this afternoon or just rumours?

The short range models are showing a line of pretty heavy storms forming from around Reading to The Wash. It will be very hit and miss, and the models are showing the lines to be really quite thin. They may extend as far as the south coast.

If you get one, you'll really know about it from the rain. Most people won't get a storm.

Yes please, if you're buying!! BLT please.

I'm in Essex and the Met Office are giving a 10% chance of rain despite being in the yellow warning area. If it does rain I may well sit outside in it!!!

I suspect Essex is more likely to see rain from the system moving up from France in to Kent, rather than the line of storms I described above.

Ha, this well timed tweet backs me up: https://twitter.com/metoffice/status/1020261318950...

Rain alarm!

My study at home faces NE so I don't tend to see the rain coming. Mrs Puggit doesn't like her washing getting wet!

Line of rain just bubbled up out of nowhere, Winchester to Reading.
