Anyone had any sore throars while vaping?

Im using s 80:20 vg/pg eliquid on a uwell nunchaku with my wattage at 43 watts. The flavour of my liquid is aniseed and i am drinking plenty of watee.

I keep getting sore throats.

Is it best to take a long slow inhale and slow exhale or just quickly inhale and exhale?
Aniseed can be a bit spikey on the throat but what nicotine level are you vaping?

More airflow can also help with this although you'll get less flavour

As you vape more you grow to love the throat hit and seek it out in the form of high nic mouth to lung vapes IME
Airflow is wide open and my flavours are 0mg nicotine

I have tried other flavours like heisenberg and fruit salad but still getting sore throats

Online ive read that wattage may need to be increased or that vaping style needs to be changed.

Hence my question should i take a long slow draw, hold it in my mouth then slowly release?

Or draw vape in quickly like 2 seconds worth and exhale straight away.

Have tried both way the slow method tastes better and has more vaper the fast method feels like im rushing and vapour is less cloudy

Still get sore throats so wanted opinions on what you experts do.

Have you worked your way down to zero, or are you one of the people who never smoked, but took up vaping?

Never smoked but constantly was doing shisha..yes not the same as ciggeretes but was costing me a fortune and takes ages setting up

Decided to vape to swap for the shisha and ease of changing flavours etc

Never had a sore throat with shisha pipe so guessing its the new style of vape and inhaling and wattage that is effecting me

I have heard of shisha but I don't know anything about it, a quick google tells me it is pretty unhealthy, like smoking 100 cigarettes in an hour! What exactly is it you put in the pipe?? If you are trying to replicate that with vaping are you taking huge hits?

Dropped my iStick + aspire nautilus down the loo rolleyes replaced with an aspire nautilus aio, first venture into pods and i'm really impressed with it. Great as a discrete device, does look like a marker pen though.

re. the nunchuku - I have one and really don't rate the tank at all, I was getting constant leaks and going through a coil a day. The mesh pro is vastly superior in my experience. Currently my wasp nano is having a renaissance though, great flavour from that.

Have you seen these? https://www.theshishashop.com/aspire-proteus-ehook...

Shisha is a very smooth way of taking tobacco smoke so your throat wouldn't be used to the harshness of the vape

I would recommend finding the lowest PG juice you can or making your own

I've got my home made juice down to about 82%VG and it's very smooth even at 2mg (still fine at 100+W not that I vape that high any more)

The top of the pipe has flavoured tobbaco and the bottom of the pipe has water. Not sure on the mechanics but you suck in and vapour comes into your mouth.

I dont draw on it very hard probz for for like 3-4 seconds. I draw on the vape between 1.5 - 2 seconds and release straight out

My coil is the 0.25ohm and is on 43 watts so i am not sure if i need to start taking longer draws or maybe the liquid isnt being fully vapourised im not sure.

Yes seen that product but after reading the specs it looks like a normal mod you stick a tank onto...i went for uwell due to rave flavour reviews and smoothness.

My flavours are all 80/20 and my mates who have the same uwell as me seem to be fine but they did do ciggerettes before and i havnt..i think it must be my technique.

Have you tried a decent selection of juices yet? I have found that i dont really get on with strong fruity flavours and almost exclusively vape dessert flavours now. It is also good for my diet as it helps with my sweet tooth! I have actually lost weight since i gave up smoking..

The sweeter ones are not good for my coils. Im changing a coil every 24-36 hours! I know, ridiculous but have tried several coils brands, tanks etc. I need to find a different juice. Just don't like the main brands like Vampire.

That is actually interesting to read.

Think i am going to ditch my aniseed flavour and try something more sweeter to see if that helps.

Also as good as the uwell is i think i want something that can take more watts so i get a much warmer vape and some more cloud vaper when i am chilling at home.

Thinking of the freemax mesh triple coil but can not for the life of me decide which box mod to buy. Any recommendations?

I am thinking of a DIY coil build but i dont feel confident i can make it properly so maybe in a few months ill try doing it.

Can you make a juice that is 100% vg or will it not work at all?

I used to vape 100% VG it works fine. I used to buy the juice from Paradise Vape but not used them for a few years now.

I found the same issue, coils were costing me a small fortune so i went to a 'buildable' tank. Coils are now pennies.

I am probably not in a position to advise about different 'buildable' tanks as i have only got experience of one. What i would say though is do it! Just check out reviews on you tube or something and dive in. even if you buy the tank and a little coil tool kit you will soon be saving money over buying premade coils! I swap my coild every week or two maybe but the cotton gets changed every three or four days. I am spending pennies each week on consumables.

I am just waiting for a new tank to be delivered. a Geekvape Zeus X, it might be a good place for you to start, reviews look good.

As far as mods go, they all seem pretty much the same to me! I use a uwell crown 4 but i wouldn't say it is better than any other popular mod out there!

Well, you will need a tank that will take 'home made coils' first. Be warned, although you can save lots of money by buying the right tank and the stuff to make your own coils , right now you are on the precipice, if you take the step towards making your own coils you will probably end up going down the path of turning vaping into a hobby. You will be comparing coil wire and ohmage and different tanks etc etc. I promised i wouldnt do it, but i am. I am currently bidding on a job lot on ebay that includes five tanks..it is a slippery slope smile

Few months ago i had no clue about vaping. I then started researching and was blown away.

The different mods, tanks, coils, vape styles, vg/pg, batteries, drip tips etc etc i have spent hours watching videos and reading forums

I have seen videos on rebuildable and god i am confused.

Rta , rda, sqaunker, dripper, build own coils ,have pre made coils, this cotton that cotton...this is the reason i dont have much confidence in diy.

If i was doing a rebuildable i would like a squanker as i wont need to keep topping up with e liquid...but what tank would be best? Rda rta rba raa ??

I haven't tried squonking yet, but I think you need a squonking tank for that so your choices would be a bit more limited, I 'think' that that all the squonk tanks are RDA or RDTA or whatever but i could be wrong. I always get a bigger glass for my tanks though for that reason. 2ml tanks would need filling too often for my style of vaping.

As far as coils go, you can start with a box of premade wire coils that have different types in so you can see if you notice any difference. You can get fifty coils for about £6 or something!

People all rave about the different cottons, i have tried a few of the most popular brands and they are all fine..

Thanks some good advice

I am going to stick with my uwell for now until i can shake away this sore throat business..then maybe look at a decent box mod then decide about what to put on top of it.

Me wife bought me the vape as a present she didnt realise it is looking to turn into a full on hobby..im gonna have cotton and wires all over the house in a few months haha
