2 weeks in with the Billet Box, it’s all I’ve used!! Little bit of a learning curve with all these bridges and loads of airflow options.

Very versatile AiO mod this, you can keep it simple & run aspire nautilus or Kanger Subtank coils with the ‘bridges’ or the supplied Kanger RBA which is pretty decent. Or get something called an A tank which has larger openings to take the Atlantis type coils and comes with its own bridge/adapter.

Had 4 condensation plugs from POTV which act as a AFC and help eliminate any condensation leaking into the mod but won’t stop a full on flood. With these you’ve got 4 different sized air holes.

Picked up some Kayfun airflow reducers so you can really customise this thing to how you want it.

Also there’s a company called Mod Factory who sell a couple kits so you can use the EUC coils and depending on what kit/coils you use it’s meant to be a great MTL or DTL. Pretty expensive for what it is but very good, I’ve got a full kit on order should be here in a couple weeks.

The RBA’s have been great, so far I’ve tried (all clones....authentics are mega bucks!!) SXK VapeShell, been a bit of a faff to wick with this and it’s leaked a lot, had another sent to me and it’s better. Exocet was nice and the Insider came today and it’s the best of the bunch.

Can see this replacing most of my vape kit and just keep a squonker plus couple attys as back up......it’s that good smile

Hello All,

I'm still seeking a little help so I can vape without barking like a sea lion.

Here's a copy of my latest order...

"Sweet Flavourings 10ml"

Custard
Vanilla Ice Cream
Mango (Costa Rica Special)

Qty: 2 "Eliquid Nicotine Bases 10ml"
Strength: 0.9% (9mg/ml), Type: Velvet Cloud 1 x 10ml

As you can see, I'm using Flavourart's 100% VG base + flavour.

I use a Smok Stick Prince with matching tank to sub ohm.
I also have a SiegeleiFUCHAI 213W TC box mod, which I sub ohm at 36 watts.

The thing is, I can't get on with this kit because it's making me cough.

I tried 'cutting' the 0.9% base with 100%VG 'Liquido Zero', which has
no nicotine in so my nic level was 0.45% but the problem remained.

I also changed to a narrow drip tip (stainless) and a finned heat sink type
adaptor.

Now, I'm getting confused. Some say high VG makes them cough, others say it doesn't
OTOH, some recommend nic shots for smoothness but not for sub ohming.
And short fill? Haven't a clue what it means.

I'm therefore seeking the smoothest possible vape but one with a nic strength
that'll satisfy. On analogues I use 20 Carlton Superkings Blue a day...I've
smoked for nigh on 50 years.

I know vaping's safer so any advice on a setup will be greatly appreciated.

Explanation of short fills https://www.ecigarettedirect.co.uk/ashtray-blog/20...
Basically a 50 or 100ml flavor without nicotine you add one or more nicotine shots to.

As for the cough, 100% VG liquid will be very viscous and some of the problem might be with the "pull" needed to get the juice over the coils. Also if you chain vape the cotton in the wick can't soak up juice fast enough and you burn the coils.

Most people report a cough with PG, PG carries flavour better, is less viscous and tends to produce less "cloud".

Try a wider drip tip and open your airflow up to see if it makes a difference.

You may also be reacting to the flavouring in the juice itself.

Thank you for replying, pills.

I find the full VG base vapes easily enough and I've yet to burn a wick.
However, I seem to cough more with the fruit flavourings as opposed to
the vanilla/custard types so you may be right.

I also find the narrow tip makes the draw more like an analogue's.

I think it's all about experimentation now so I'll have a play. In my Googling, I found out
that analogues carry a cough suppresant for a smoother draw. I don't know if it's bad
stuff but I could do with some in my mix for now.

Cheers, DH

Hi guys

Appreciate any advice here. Tried following the thread but pretty technical stuff in here.

I need to get someone i know off the cigs. The stick approach has not worked so i need a carrot approach.

This is a stubborn, older person, so it needs to be ready to go even if that means i do the setting up. Any need to change coils etc will be lost on them (and for now me too tbh). I also need to do my best to get them up and running without any glitches. The discussion above about a cough concerns me so again i need to get them started with minimal set backs, low chance of coughing or reacting.

So i need a simple set up. Reliable. Ready to go. Lots of choice with flavours, to entice them to use it. Also reliable batteries - have read horror stories about the batteries - i know thats probably 1 in a million but hey

I really do not know what i am looking at or where to buy it so would be very grateful for recommendations on brands, what i need to get, etc

Thanks in advance

My First thought is that if this person is not ready to quit smoking then you are probably wasting your time!

They will always have an excuse to not use what ever it is you buy for them.

https://vaping360.com/best-vape-starter-kits/pod-mini-vapes/

Pod systems will probably fit the best to start off - make sure the battery is charged, fit a pod, vape. No faff with priming coils or selecting the right PG/VG balance with your juice - plug and play

Something like this comes with a few flavours to try out and will give an idea w

I am by no means an expert but will share my experience...

There's nothing wrong with kits like the Smok stick but they don't do a particularly great job of simulating a cigarette. The air flow is too high, and that is because it is designed to be vaped 'direct to lung'- it works best with a big draw which comes from your diaphragm. If you vape one of these the way you'd smoke a cigarette the air velocity isn't high enough to make the best of the tank.

I started with a Smok stick too and moved on to an MTL or 'mouth to lung' kit instead. For me the tighter draw (more restricted airflow) felt much more like a cigarette. I spent 35 quid on an Innokin EZ watt starter kit. I use 0.8 ohm coils at 12 or 14w. You don't get big 'clouds', again it's a bit more like a cigarette.

Juice is the other part of the equation. Nic Salts only for me now, 50/50 VG / PG. I find nic salts smoother for a given nicotine strength.

I recommend this kit to everyone really. The tank and the Innokin coils are really good, much more consistent and longer lasting than the Smok ones.

Hi all,

Another few questions, if I may.

I think I'll go with nic salts to see if I can enjoy vaping with less couging.

My kit (it's sub ohm) runs 100% VG well enough so would somebody please
advise on...

  • A good place to buy? (Link if poss, pls).
  • What strength for a 20/day analogue man?
  • How to use?
That's all, experience will out!

Cheers, DH

I seem to remember when i used to use a uwell crown 4 mod and tank, my coils would only last a week or two before i felt like they needed changing!

Now i make my own coils i change them every two weeks but it costs pennies and the type of juices i vape are particularly ucky.

Yea im looking into the diy route but as i have 4 new coils to use imma wait until they are used up.

Guess it lasted as i was only vaping between 40-43 watts. Noticed a flavour like black jack would feel harsh at 43 watts compared to like rubarb and custard.

I mean the coil still works i just cant do long drags say over 3 seconds otherwise i cough

What sort of mod have you got?

I started out with the Uwell crown 4 but after about 6 months it started to act up so i bought a couple of cheap ones. I have an Aspire speeder and an Eleaf invoke. I picked them up for about £15-£20 each. I actually think the tank is the most important part of the setup. I have tried a few and some i just don't get on with so i binned them rather than constantly mess about trying to get it right.

My go too tanks at the moment are an Advken Manta (dual coil) and Vandyvape Revolver (single coil), the revolver is my favourite of the two and i picked that up for £10.
