That is nothing to do with vaping.

I believe that is nitrous oxide, people inhale the gas using party balloons to get high

WOW! That's what I was talking about, I thought those canisters were used in Vape pipes, Sorry getmecoat

There was one of these in the road which had been partly crushed, the thin tip was pointing slightly upright and pierced the tyre of my friends Corvette.

Hi all,

Another few questions, if I may.

I think I'll go with nic salts to see if I can enjoy vaping with less couging.

My kit (it's sub ohm) runs 100% VG well enough so would somebody please
advise on...

  • A good place to buy? (Link if poss, pls).
  • What strength for a 20/day analogue man?
  • How to use?
That's all, experience will out!

Cheers, DH

Um, you want a good place to buy what, juice? Well, i am a tight bugger so i generally wait for bargains to come up. I get notifications popping up from www.vapebargains.co.uk.

Strength will be down to whatever suits you. Most people start high and work their way down. I did it the other way round and started at about 3mg and stayed there. I vape a lot of juice and never ever get any kind of nicotine hit that i am aware of, I actually think my nicotine addiction is now almost gone. The other week i went out for an all day session in a bar and my tank emptied itself before i even got there so i just toughed it out. No vaping, no ciggies, it wasnt that tough, but I missed it.

How to use? Not sure what you are asking. How to mix the nic into a shortfill?
That is easy. i think if you add 10ml of Nic to 50ml shortfill you ened up without about .3mg so to go 'full strength' you are looking at 40-50ml of nic to 50ml of 'virgin' juice.

I just ordered 200ml of juice and will only add 40mls of nic to it.

Just wondering, has there been any discussion on here about the short/long-term effects of vaping?

The fact its relatively new, there's no REAL certainty on the long-term effects of what vaping is doing to the body.
Having been vaping for about 3 weeks now, I can see the appeal, expecially for those that are able to give up smoking cigerettes with it, but it does worry me of what it is I'm taking into my lungs, and what the possible effects will be in the future.

Well thanks,Shuvi,

Please, all, forgive my musings but as the plit thockens visibly, I want to approach this change scientifically/logically.So here, I'm thinking out loud

Nic salt juices are less alkaline than freebase ones so they can have higher nicotine strength while being less harsh.

They also bind more easily when inhaled, meaning nicotine cravings are satisfied more readily.

However, the strength can go as far uo as 20 to 50mg. Sub ohming these will flatten you.

So, if I was to get 5mg strength for sub-ohming, the softer vape should be better cough wise than my current 4.5 to 6mg freebase juices and satisfy cravings better.

Now, to avoid barking like a mastiff, I use 100% VG nicotine (free) base. With nic salt juices, can I accept some PG
because of the reduced alkalinity?

It seems better to use 10ml bottles rather than shortfill for the simple reason that once a batch has been mixed up,
that's it. If the flavour is horrible, that's 50ml of liquid for the sink.

Given that I like sub ohming, the lower strength salt juices seem tempting. Perhaps I can mess about with
coil ohmage, wattage, airflow and technique to refine the outcome.

Finally, I want to buy from somewhere that won't be selling me rat poison or llama wee in boittles. So far, I've used Totally Wicked (nasty stuff) and Flavourart (much nicer but still causing barking and yet unsatisfying).

This is the gist so far, so what do we think?

You are putting an awful lot more thought into vaping than i do , i just have a 'suck it and see' attitude. I have bought loads of cheap juices and not liked about half of them. I haven't thrown them away , i will use them as a back up, when i am ready to stop vaping i will start vaping stuff that i dont like very much!

The stuff i vape is about 70 - 80% VG and i Sub ohm vape approx 10-20ml a day at about 65 watts and i have no sore throat or coughing issues.

Thanks, pills, the stuff at the second link is really useful.

After asking here, positive things are happening.
I ordered some 6mg salt nic mixes from Electric Tobacconist and gave them a try.
Starting with Banana Caramel Waffle in my Smok Stick Prince (Q4 coil) I found
i could inhale with little or no coughing. Good start but the flavour was distinctly odd.
Not burnt but very biscuity wih no detectable caramel or banana.
So I got busy, ordering 1.5 ohm OCC coils for my Subtank Mini V2 and 1,5 ohm CLOCC coils for my CL2 Tank2.
I could only try the formet today as the latter have yet to show.
Sticking the Subtank on my Segelei Fuchai 213, I wound it down to 15W as per the coil's top figure.
This was with Strawberry Storm liquid and it worked. No coughing, a good draw and lots of flavour.

I've ordered some slightly stonger salt liquid (10ml) and will see what happens, going up the scale as necessary.

The one oddity is that I put the Subtank on my Stick Prince (80 to 100W) and it simply does nothing. Perhaps
Smok have made it so that OEM tank only. In which case, it'll probably be eBay and another pen-style
powerhouse.Still, progress.

It's probably that the 510 connection isn't making a.. connection. Is the pin at the bottom of the hole on the mod adjustable with a screw? (Old school!!) or is the spring stuck? might just need a jab with a small screw driver.

alternately, the coils inside the subtank sometimes don't push the spring connector far enough down to make a connection either. This can be a new coil/old tank thing where they've made tiny adjustments over the last 4 years

I used to have lots of these problems with cloned items from China, must have bought 5 RDAs that never got any use due to the connections just not being accurately made. I learnt my lesson in the end.

Not good I'd bet.

Most on here are convinced it's as pure as the driven snow, but I'm absolutely certain that in time we'll find out it's harmful in one way or another. Not as bad as fags I'd guess, but still not advisable.

I quit the fags a year ago, and have vaped since. Now on 0% nicotine so it's purely the habit, although I think it's reducing. I intend chucking it altogether by the end of the year. I think the people treating it as the harmless new life hobby will end up disappointed. It'll be compo faces all round when the truth comes out. hehe

I am not quite on zero yet but have not added nic to my latest short fill that arrived yetsterday so i have a tank of zero nic and a tank of 2mg (ish) nic on the go and will favour the zero nic to see how I go.

Agree Technodup. Also, I have never been more addicted to nicotine than I have been while vaping. Went from being a social smoker to being a daily 20mg vaper for a week! Back to sensible levels now.

TBH it was a seamless transition. From 12 to 9 to 6 to 3 to 0mg (with half and half stages between the later ones). I thought I'd notice but I guess it's more the psychology of having the thing in your hand and the hand to mouth action than the actual nicotine that's the hard to kick part.

I had intended chucking it at the 12 month stage, but I'm now saying end of the year...

But from 2+ litres of Coke and 20 fags to zero caffeine, zero nicotine and next to no added sugar I'm reasonably happy with progress smile

I’ve been vaping for circa 30 months.

Had smoked for most of my life and typically 10-20 a day. Now 46 years old.

I’ve got a Voopoo Drag mod with the Aspire Cleito tank and 120 coils. I typically vape at 100 or 110 watts.

I’ve vaped a lot of different juices and now my tried and tested is Nasty Juice Asap Grape. It’s all I buy and I’ve been on 3mg nicotine from Day 1.

I’ve been thinking more recently it’s worth knocking this on the head too.

LOL! 14 liters of coke week didn't make you put weight on?

I was about your weight until I was in my 30's and then I slowly crept up to 85 kg over 15yrs. I have now evened out at about 80kg after cutting way down on alcohol and biscuits, saved a fortune too I guess!

I need to try a juice that doesn't burn out my coils in 24 hours. How's the Grape? I assume it's not sweet?
