I haven’t tried that one but I think TW sometimes sell makes like Eleaf and rebrand them? Haven’t bought from them in years though.

What juice did you get? I noticed some come with a bottle of 50/50 juice, me personally if I DL 50/50 or lower at high watts/low ohms I get mad coughing fits.

Try some higher VG juice first, also well worth getting a spare kit incase you drop or break this one. Take a look at Vaping101 for some nice kit at a good price or if you don’t mind the wait I’d get from China, sites like FastTech or 3F Vape are good wink
Thanks again for the insight, much appreciated.

Can you help further...?

I can adjust the voltage/resistance etc but I have no idea how this correlates to the experience - do you have an understanding of this you could possible explain?

Thanks again!

You can't change the resistance of a coil unless you swap it for a new one

If you increase the power going though a coil, you'll increase the current and you will get a hotter vape which should produce more vapour (there is a limit to the heat that cotton holding the liquid can cope with)

The lower your resistance, the more power you can push through the coil.

The more surface area a coil has, the more contact with juice and the more vapour you can produce with a greater flavour.

Coils with high surface area like a fused clapton generally have a lower resistance and therefor need more power to produce vapour

Airflow can also make a huge difference with flavour, amount of vapour and the heat of the vapour

After a while you'll work out what you like to vape, personally, I like a hot vape with lots of flavour and a decent throat hit so I use RDAs with fused clapton coils. Lots of other people like a cooler vape with supersize clouds so they use tanks with premade coils from Smok etc

any other questions?

Most coils will have the suggested power range written on them.

Thank you - that's an awesome explanation and appreciated!

I do have one more generic question...

As I'm coming from being a smoker of cigarettes one thing has always puzzled my with vaping...

With regular cigarettes I would say have one every couple of hours; light the cig and smoke from start to finish maybe having 10 drags on it. It's quite a defined process as there is a start (lighting) and an end (finishing it and stubbing out)

How does the process of vaping compare in order to maintain the cravings whilst making the transition to vaping?

Do you just have a single vape as and when or do you have a 5 min session similar to smoking?

Personally, it varies.

At work, I will have a few breaks throughout the day, usually I'll spent the same amount of time outside as someone who's having a cigarette. We can't vape indoors so we are forced to take it as a short break

If I'm at home, in the car or out and about, I'll vape as and when I please, two drags here, 4 drags there. This is when I get through the most juice, especially as my girlfriend vapes it as well!

I also have two vapes on me at all times, a 2mg Direct to lung vape and a 12mg mouth to lung vape. If the 2mg vape isn't hitting the spot or I need to be more discreet, I'll use the 12mg which I can stealth vape and still get enough nicotine.

Picked up a Pulse BF 80w squonk today for my first foray into squonking. Also picked up a Dead Rabbit and have a Drop on the way at the end of the week.

First impressions are very good, nice little thing. Think I need to build some higher ohm coils though as my dual staggered claptons are reading at 0.13 and the Pulse wants to give it the full 80w hehe I think I'll go for around 0.3 ohms next time.

iPhones driving me nuts tonight! Keeps flicking up & down the screen and pressed submit twice by mistake!!!!!

Anyway Temp Control on the Pulse! It’s pretty good but different to what most mods use.

I think the VV chip is very similar to the Gene chip. The TC values are set out different to what we’re normally used to. So for example SS316L has usually a TCR of 0.00092 but you can’t get this number on th Pulse, TCR is different here I think it’s either set to 1100 or 1300 for SS so to get it for 316L you’ve got to manually adjust it. So to get TC to work on different wires I’ve gone off this table below. Mainly because I picked up a few different wire types like NiFE and struggled to find any info on how to get this to work in TC on the Pulse. Couldn’t even get a straight answer out of TonyB. By using the Gene conversion table below it’s nice & easy to figure out. (If anyone’s on NiFE you have to scroll to the Ti menu to manually adjust the numbers.

One wire I couldn’t get working at all was my ni200 claptons, just read 0.00ohms on the Pulse and wouldn’t fire, tested it on my ohm reader and it’s 0.21 so not sure what’s happening there. But nickels pretty crap anyway so not too bothered!!

Gents, through nothing but my own stupidity I managed to leave my Smok TFV8 and GX2/4 mod on the bloody train! So I'm now missing 4 of my decent batteries and my daily vape kit! fkity fk!

Need to replace it as I'm back using my remaining Smok TFV8 and a very old mod, coupled with some slightly done batteries.

It's always nice to have to go nuts and buy some shiny new kit however! Anybody have any recommendations for decent mods and batteries and where to actually source them? Kinda needs to be a UK supplier as I don't want to wait a week for stuff to come in from a far flung land.

I'm also going to need a new tank as only having one is inviting disaster. I vape a lot so capacity is priority, I know with the TPD regulations it's supposed to be 2ml capacity but there's always ways and means around such things. Despite the bad press they get on here I like and have no issue with the Smok tanks, but I'm open to suggestions. I don't home build coils so needs to be something that takes normal coils.

Also potentially looking for an additional smaller and lighter kit that I can use mouth to lung rather than the airy, sounds like a gas turbine cloud machine that the TFV8 is. Haven't used anything from this sector in over 2 years so is there anything new and improved out there?

I make my own juice at 70VG/30PG and I make it in batches of 1 litre at a time so If I can get a MTL tank and bit cloud chaser tank that can both use the same juice that would be ace!

I'd also like to try and move away from the 150w+ coils, burning through 100ml of juice in 3 days get's a little boring after a while.

Suggestions appreciated!

Cheers Cotty, already following him on eBay so will pick up 4 new batteries.

He’s a top seller, I’ve bought from him a few years ago but I think his amp ratings are waaaay to high. VTC6 is defo not a 30A battery!

I get mine from fogstar, there’s a permanent 15% off code on POTV that’s just changed. Also has his Fogstar Friday deal which is usually 15 or 20% off.

What size batteries are you after?

18650

The Sony VTC6A’s getting good reviews and seem to be the go to battery now over the older VTC5A. Samsung 30Q, 25R & LG HG2 also good/we’ll proven... and cheap! Especially the 25R.

20700

https://www.fogstar.co.uk/collections/batteries/20...

Sanyo B’s are excellent as long as you don’t push them, 16A but great in a regulated mod, would be ideal for a lower wattage MTL set up and it has tons of capacity.

These are the new cells that Bens sourced direct from China:

https://www.fogstar.co.uk/collections/batteries/pr...

They’re the same as these Vapcells below but cheaper as he’s gone direct to the factory and cut out the middle man.

^^^^ I’ve got a pair of these, really good & will be getting the other type tomorrow.

21700

I’d go for this Samsung 30T (excellent battery)

Batteries would be dependant on the mod I would guess, unless there's mod's out there that can take different types of batteries?

I’m a bit out of touch with the best regulated mods these days so can’t really help there.

I’ve got a couple new mech & regulated 2x700 squonk mods here that also take a 18650 with a supplied adapter, so that’s handy. Must be a few out there that can do this?

Do you fancy giving squonking a go? Vandy Vape sell the Maze RDA which has a removable coil instead of rebuilding your own so it’s nice & easy to use. Was made to cater for those who want the dripping/squonking experience without faffing around with rebuilding.

The Pulse 80w is a cracking squonk mod, I think it holds around 7ml juice, takes both 20700 & 18650’s.

Worth a look anyway wink

Listened to a 'best of 2018 so far' pod cast only yesterday, the recommendations for mods were -

https://www.vaporized.co.uk/shop/ecig-kits/innokin...

main highlights - 'joystick' controller, great screen & excellent, long lasting mesh coil heads that come with the included tank

https://greyhaze.co.uk/products/asmodus-lustro-200...

Main highlights - usual asmodus reliability and build quality, funky IR sensor/touch control system

https://www.sr-vapes.co.uk/product/augvape-v200-bo...

Main highlights - Solid build, scroll wheel control, looks like a Honda B18C because VTEC YO!

This tank also got a mention for it's solid mesh coil heads - https://ukvapekings.com/product/freemax-fireluke-r...

I've tried squonking, wasn't really my kind of thing, though I looked the Maze RDA and couldn't actually figure out how the hell it works? Am I right in saying it's basically just a tank that you can refill like a normal tank or by a squonking mod that back fills the tank as it empties? I looked at it as it's a low wattage coil than the Smok's I normally use, which I would presume means it doesn't plow it's way through juice!
