Im finally coming to the end of the litres of nicotine I bought when the stupid pointless restrictions were brought in a few years ago. Does anyone know if its still possible to get a decent quantity of nicotine for home mixing?

Or here also - https://www.nicotineuk.co.uk

I've still got circa two litres in the freezer from when the restrictions were announced but had to buy 100ml from here a while back when away from home for a period at short notice and it was excellent quality.

I have been using Lancashire Steam Company for years https://www.lancashiresteamcompany.co.uk/
But I was thinking that £10.99 for 50ml wasn't exactly cheap so thought I would try somewhere different.

I have used Darkstar https://darkstar.co.uk/ before for nicotine shots and base (VG PG) mix.
Noticed this Blackcurrant Lemonade - Bottle Shot Bundle by DSV and though I would give it ago.
Works out with P&P £15.95 for 250ml

OK folks - quick question.

I vape. (Bad habit, I need to grow up and stop, I should know better etc etc - but it is what it is for the moment)

I have been making my own vape juices for ages and frankly they never really taste of much. Have been lowering the nicotine content over time and I'm at 9mg now.

The other day I ran out and so bought one of those Elfbar prefilled jobbies. Despite the nicotine being too high for my preference it tasted lovely. A really full flavour that is actually nice compared to my own home made eliquids are frankly pretty tasteless - even at 20% flavour levels. I generally use fruit flavours with a touch of menthol / mint. The Elfbar was so much more intense in flavour - and sort of creamier and sweeter.

So what am I missing? What are the keys to making your own eliquid so that it actually tastes of something? Different flavours, different %, different coil?

Currently using an Aspire Felxux with a 1 ohm coil. Eliquid mixes usually have 60 / 40 PG to VG but happy to change this if it will deliver more flavour. Also happy to change the actual vape unit if needed.

Are the pre-filled ones using much higher flavour levels or are they packed with all sorts of odd additives that deliver the taste?

Not in to huge clouds of vapour - just something that tastes nice and that I can make up myself to the desired nicotine concentration - along with saving a bloody fortune and not killing the planet by throwing away a prefilled unite every day or two.

All suggestions much appreciated.

Yeah those elf bars are really nice aren't they, I've never found anything close to those in terms of flavour.

They do sell eliquid but obvs it's not as cheap as mixing your own:

Is it possible that you got a bit of vaper's tongue from vaping the same juice for a long time. The change to a differnet flavour usually helps, probably why the shop bought one tasted stronger.

Back on them after a few years of smoking after TPD messed up my vaping. Tried a cheap Innoken set up for a few months to see how I got on, then bought this Geekvape yesterday. Juice from Motivape is getting me by, lemonade, Mummy’s Milk and a few caramel flavours. I miss smoking but the smell was pissing me off so that’s my motivation to keep this up

What's the best MTL non sub ohm USB-charging vape?

Using the Aspire K3 because it hits the spot and I like the Nautilus BVC 1.6o / 1.8o coils - but I dropped it in a field this morning, and the chances of finding it are slim to none. So I've got a blank canvas, so to speak (options severely limited by the coils though? Which TBF I'm open minded about)

Previous vape was a Nautilus AIO which I quite liked, but the k3 was a step up in battery capacity and tank capacity, with the same coil.

Downsides are 1200mah battery and no adjustable airflow.

Positives are that seems almost as large as the rechargable ones go and the set airflow isn't a million miles off perfect. And the aforementioned coils work out at £1.25ish and last a week

The K4 (the "obvious" upgrade) is a sub ohm affair I believe? What else is out there?

Didn't like the Smok PocketX, ended up giving it away. Can't remember why now, just didn't hit the spot I think.

I'd say more flavouring.

These guys work out at £22.50 for 500ml on a buy 5 get 5 free offer (vape pods work out at £3,000 per litre yikes ) but you add your own nicotine. Which is where I run into the same problem as you...too much nicotine = no taste

So the plan is to find my favourites and add a ml or 2 of flavouring per 50ml - or rather per 8ml of 72mg nic til I get the required nicotine hit and flavour hit. TBH using less nic is giving me great flavour and I'm still getting the hit

Ebay linky (if allowed) - nothing to do with me I hasten to add

I don´t know about "the best" but this combo has been with me for about 10 years :

eleaf iStick 40W with Kanger AeroTank2 and dual coils varying between 1.5 and 1.8 Ohm.

iStick rechargeable with USB, lasts about 2 years before battery runs out of breath,

AeroTank with variable airflow.

Very basic but works fine with me.

The innokin T18ii endura is a decent cheap piece of kit, adjustable air flow, three power setting, 1.5 ohm coils and a 1300mah battery, you can vape quite high vg liquid with it as well.
The battery seems to last much longer between charges than others of a similar rating and the coils last well too.

Thanks. Probably overkill for me, although I started out with an istick due to the maahoosive battery capacity

That looks like a winner, thanks. Essentially the same as the K3 but with slightly more battery plus airflow control. And cheapish coils.

What strength would you / do you go for? (Currently on 11mg ish ). Would 50/50 PG/VG be alright (I'm guessing so)

Yes 50/50 will be no problem, although I've used high VG flavoured liquid in these in the past, I only vape unflavoured 70VG or above liquid these days which I mix myself at 12mg, you soon get used to it and it's better for your health, it also makes the coils last for ages.

One thing to note about the T18ii is that unlike most other ecigs, the air flow control is in the mod rather than the tank which means you can't use the tank on any other mod or battery.

That sounds horrific. Or rather bland, to row back a little. An acquired taste?

Each to his own though beer

Reading negative reviews on the t18ii (Amazon) - so I might end up sticking with the K3. Although I guess it's the same with everything, if you have a problem you shout about it, if everything fine you don't. Just seems theres a bit more to go wrong. But equally I could find bad reviews of the k3 I suppose.

Just surprised really that everything's a couple of years old in the market. I'd have thought we'd have doubled battery capacity or similar within that timeframe.

For MTL the original Innokin Zenith tank is very good, even better than the Aspire Nautilus that I used previously.
I used the 1.6 Z coil in mine but they do a wide range to fit.

Easy fill and doesn't leak, coils last quite a long time too on 11/12 watts.

I tried the Zenith 2 but went back to the original.

There hasn't been much new for MTL vaping for a while now, most makers seem to be concentrating on sub ohm stuff.

I’ve pretty much stuck with these two for the best part of a year. Fantastic flavour, easy to use, pods are around £12 for 4 on Amazon, and depending on juice they last around 7-10 days. Just hassle free, more or less leak free as long as the cap goes back on tight after refilling. Really good.

It’s pretty much the same as this but a different design (same A2 pods) I can’t tell any difference in battery life, both perform the same.
