What about some of the posters on here. Someone makes a comment, some posters seem to feel that they must reply in a rude or aggressive manner.

Do people still sniff glue out of bags? Or is that just an 80s/90s thing?

Titta in Swedish means 'to look', so maybe it's a bunch of pervy bird spotters just being efficient.

A bit like tit bit and tid bit, I always understood that the Puritans who went to the U.S. in the wake of The Mayflower in 1620, changed tit bit to tid bit, as it was less lascivious.
Since then I've read that tid bit was the original expression, but that Brits changed it to tit bit as tit rhymed with bit!
Choose which option you prefer.

And the word for a woman's breast is 'teat', though it can be pronounced as tit

Didn't Otto Titzling invent the brassiere? Or is there nothing to support that rumour ?

When people have eyes that don't look in the same direction, is it an eye problem, or do they just have more conscious eye control?

I have an uncle who can watch me in the passenger seat whilst driving which always freaks me out, but in photographs you rarely see him looking dead-on into the lens with both eyes. But then we judge distance by focus and can follow things without moving our heads, so there must be some motor control thing going on there even in "normal" people.

There are a variety of causes but most of them are physical rather than mental. Conditions like exotropia (lazy eye), esotropia (cross eyed) and strabismus are usually down to muscle dysfunction and certainly isn't due to conscious control.

Correction is often surgical, that's why if it's only cosmetic doctors will leave it but in many cases of strabismus the eyes aren't aligned properly which leads to impaired vision (double and triple vision) or loss of sight, corrective surgery often entails shortening, lengthening or immobilising one or more extraocular muscles.

I've had 3 such surgeries.

Why are Americans so aggressive ?

I post a lot of stuff worldwide, and occasionally it gets damaged in transit. Most customers simply inform me of the breakage and ask me to send a replacement, and are happy to provide photos so I can submit an insurance claim.

However some customers go straight on the offensive, with threats of negative feedback, cancelling the order, etc. if I don't send them replacements IMMEDIATELY ! This type of customer is invariably American frown

Maybe it's because USPS seem to be world leaders in damaging packages and I just get more incidences of breakage from US customers... frown
Having lived in both UK and US, I can safely say in person Americans are way less agressive and confrontational - (incredibly rare to see a fight in a bar (and the only hassle I have ever had in an American bar was from a couple of lads from Leicester).

However in private locations (cars or online etc) there is definately a lot of pent up aggression that's not seen in UK (probably because everyone gets it out on the High St Friday & Saturday nights : )

But for damages in transit - I do receive a lot of damaged goods courtesy of the US postal providers (fedex seemingly being the worst).

Parakeets in South London.

I was aware that they existed but assumed them to be a rare thing but my daughter has just moved to Beckenham and the place seems to be swarming with the things. Lovely to look at but what gives?

Presumably the descendents of escaped pets. I'm sure they're classed as vermin since they're non native and compete for resources with home grown birds.

Typical of foreign birds coming over here and making our ones look bad. laugh

I've suddenly found myself working nights and getting home at 3.30-4 ish AM.
The mornings seem to still be getting lighter, the sky was beginning to get light arounf 3.15 last night, earlier than last week.
Am I making things up or do mornings continue to get lighter for a while after summer solstice?
