But yet when you find a left over donut from yesterday, 10 seconds or so in the micro makes it nice and soft again, although it does make the jam hotter than the sun!

What is a Think Tank? The BBC always seems to be interviewing people from a So-And-So Think Tank. I have a vision of people gathering in big see-through containers to sit and look thoughtful. Is being in a Think Tank an actual job? Are Think Tank's monopolies or is it a competitive marketplace? Do Think Tank's poach thinkers from other Think Tanks? Am I over thinking this?

Is there something to stop the annoying adverts on YouTube videos without going premium for iPhones.

Seeing several ads for gears of war is annoying.

Why does microwaved bread go hard?
Really?

Because the heat drives the moisture out.
Why doesn’t baked bread go hard?
Bake it a bit too long, and it does.
Indeed. Toast is hardly known for its softness.
Toast goes nice and crunchy and brown.

Microwaved bread stays white, but turns to a non-crunchy brick.

And I don't mean microwaving for ages - just enough to thaw out frozen bread. Result - thawed, rock hard bread.

Microwaved doughnuts are the best. It's been a thing since at least the early 80's, my gran used to do them for me all the time.

Do you cover it? Frozen bread microwaves back to 'fresh' really well - put a microwave cover over it or, at the very least, a sheet of kitchen towel. That'll recirculate any steam.

This is the issue with microwaves in general - no Maillard reaction, so no browning. Also it dries the centre of the slice so you get hard all the way through rather than hard on the surface and soft in the middle.
The drying out is why you have hard bread in both cases though.

"born to a girl" as opposed to what? Or did you mean "born a girl"? Or am I terribly out of touch with modern gender fluidity?

I'd imagine a simple answer would be "2nd Jan 2000" but I suspect that's not what you meant.

I think the question is.

When was the first time someone born after 1/1/2000 had a baby?

Yes, I think you're probably correct. Makes more sense than the way I read it, at least.

I expect the sad answer, somewhere awful, is 'before 1/1/2010?

From that link, the answer looks something like:

January 4, 2010

"M. P." 10 years old by Her 15-year-old brother in Bolivia.

M.P., from El Torno, Bolivia, gave birth by cesarean section to a girl weighing 2.3 kg (5.1 lb) at the Instituto Maternológico Percy Boland in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.[146] Three of the girl's brothers raped her. They were 15, 17, and 19. The youngest one was her child's biological father.[147]
