In the Meatloaf song "I'd do anything for Love" what was it that he wouldn't do?
And I would do anything for love
I'd run right into hell and back
I would do anything for love
I'd never lie to you and that's a fact
But I'll never forget the way you feel right now
Oh no, no way
And I would do anything for love
Oh I would do anything for love
I would do anything for love, but I won't do that
No, I won't do that
Ta!

Not anal, then?

She also said that, sooner or later, he'd start screwing around, which he also said he wouldn't do.

It's a real shame Meatloaf and Jim Steinman couldn't get along, they were a great duo.

Away from the fantasy world of Porn, would a female really put a secure, loving relationship on the line for a bit of uphill gardening ?

Do behave, the man has all the fun, meanwhile while the woman has a sore, leaky bottom for a few days.

I've never understood why people think sticking their knob up somebody's bum is a fun thing to do.

And, further, for some men it seems a lifelong goal if the owner of the bum is cis-female, but disgusting if the owner is male or transgender.

Can't really work that out myself.

You don’t work it out, quite the reverse in fact.

It's actually more than that;

Meat Loaf says that the question, "What is 'that'?" is one of the most popular questions he is asked.

Each verse mentions two things that the man would do for love, followed by one thing that he will not do. The title phrase repetition reasserts that he "won't do that." Each mention of "that" is a reference to the particular promise that he made earlier in the same verse. The four things he says he will never do are:

"forget the way you feel right now"
"forgive myself if we don't go all the way tonight"
"do it better than I do it with you"
"stop dreaming of you every night of my life"

At the song's conclusion, the woman predicts two things that he will do: "You'll see that it's time to move on", and "You'll be screwing around." To both of these, the male emphatically responds, "I won't do that!"

In his 1998 VH1 Storytellers special, Meat Loaf even explained it on stage using a blackboard and a pointing stick. In a 1993 promotional interview, Steinman states that the definition of "that" is fully revealed in the song in each of the several verses in which it is mentioned. This sense would have been more clear if the lyric had been "and I won't do that" instead of "but I won't do that." It is the use of "but" instead of "and" that leads to the ambiguity.

Interesting. Thanks for that.

(no pun intended)

I'm spending a few days on the coast of the English Channel and it reminds me of something I've long wondered.

Very busy shipping lane [/understatement] but why are so many vessels 'parked'? If they were all container-type ships, I'd hazard a guess at having arrived too early for their unloading slot at the next port, but the parked-up vessels cover the entire array of large ships.

As with trucks, if a ship isn't moving it isn't earning, so why are they stationery, whilst at sea, for so long?

Total guess, but saving on berthing fees? You have to pay to take up a berth and the bigger the ship, the more it costs. May have taken a smaller powerboat/RIB to get to shore until the ship is needed?

They are probably empty of cargo, and have nothing to transport. Maybe waiting for a cargo. No point chugging around burning fuel for the sake of it. So they park up near to port areas where a cargo contract might be forthcoming.

Pretty much this. If they are tankers or bulk carriers they could well be waiting empty for orders, or with a full cargo waiting for the price to go up.
If they are container ships then it's more likely that they are waiting for a berth, especially if they have arrived earlier than planned.
Quite often they won't be waiting long, but will be waiting for the tide, or for pilots and tugs to be available.

On Tankers I've been drifting for 2 weeks waiting for a cargo, and a few times had the destination changed mid-voyage because of a change in the markets.

Typing your exact question into google gave the answer: Apparently it was to prevent masturbation.
