Oh, Phil Hinton from AVForums. He did come out with some absolute thigh-slappers. What a lege.

Remember when he said "The LG FGE44500-EOFGG-3xx is a remarkably average television."?

Those were the days, eh?
He knows bugger all about teaspoons though

Ah yes, an early thing was a picture Schumacher's Ferrari (?) with that sound and try not to laugh at this meme.

Then it popped up on that sodding frog.
Think it was an older ferrari with a lower nose. I think that was before meme's were a thing, actually.

I hope whoever was behind the original made a mint out of Crazy Frog and didn't just sell the rights for a grand or two.

If only Pac-Man had eaten Crazy Frog whilst being chased by the ghosts.

You know how after a certain amount of time nostalgia kicks in, and people will begin to defend previously maligned things? I have never seen anyone claim the Crazy Frog wasn't that bad.

FitFlops are still a thing, my wife buys them.
Masai Barefoot Technology shoes with the rocker soles seem to have gone though. And good riddance, gave me agony from a sacroiliac joint for months.
My missus also wear FitFlops, has done for years.

She also use to have the MBTs, but the UK importer stopped/went squit a few years ago and that meant you could only get them imported in which was daftly expensive

I recall there being much debate at the time as to whether that things got a tail or a cock.

It was crap then and its crap now, not sure they could say "well, it wasn't too bad....."

An equally annoying ring tone is the Samsung whistle one.

But not so bad, at least froggy died out quick to meet the T+C of this thread.

That animated hamster that sang the tune from 'Robin Hood'. I think it went AWOL because the Disney lawyers struck.

I believe the 3D model was an example provided with Lightwave 3D, and they asked for permission to use it.

MP3.COM had it worse (as Napster was for piracy and kind of asking for it). They went from amazing site for aspiring artists, and the biggest tech startup of their day to being sued into oblivion for allowing people to save their own music and access it from other devices.

They basically invented cloud music storage a decade too early and got fked over by the US justice system and the dot.com bubble.

Kit cars.

Not totally, and I’m well aware of the single make speed series for the likes of Westfield and caterham...

...but you just don’t see them on the roads as much (any where near as much as 15 / 20 years ago). A caterham came up behind me the other day and it looked so small.

It always marked the start of summer when a cater-field rolled up at the local country pub.

I’m guessing the tightening up of SVA rules killed off some of the obscure stuff

I think modifying your own car is going the same way, like it's seen as the poor cousin to just buying better (on credit) in the first place.

I also assume that potential donor cars have got so complicated it is difficult for a bloke with a shed to work with.

True.

Ironically the donor cars (that survived) have sky rocketed in price!...

.. I dread to think how many Mk1 & 2 escorts the autograss guys finished off!

Scrapyards haven’t been the same for years either - the good old days of ‘yer.. help yourself mate.. it’s under that pile of seirras in the corner!.. don’t get too close to the Alsatian mind’

The VW beetle and the Triumph herald/spitfire chassis were the mainstay of the industry. Easy to find, cheap and versatile. Viva/ Marina suspension was also a common feature. Pinto engine and fiat twin cams were cheap and tunable.
Modern cars really do not lend themselves to becoming donors. It's a shame but at least we still can have them many European countries simply don't allow them at all.
