Scrapyards haven’t been the same for years either - the good old days of ‘yer.. help yourself mate.. it’s under that pile of seirras in the corner!.. don’t get too close to the Alsatian mind’
There is one near me that is a bit like. They are not piled up, you can check online what cars they have, no big scary dog that i'm aware of though. But you pay $2 to get in, bring your own tools, which they check on the way in and out, you take whatever you want off the cars there and pay a fixed price for each thing. Quite handy but annoying if the part has already been taken and you have paid your entry fee.

Amen to that!... bloody stupid idea / craze that was.

Are football rattles still around? (I have no ball kicking knowledge) I'm guessing not as they could probably be a used as a weapon.

Sadly this bear looks like it doesn't have a choice in the matter.

Someone mention Zip disk earlier...YES and thank the Lord they are no more! The only time I knew of them was the 3 years at university as every computer there had a zip disk drive.
We had the LS120 at my uni. Great for using the uni network to download music via Limewire or Kazaa, but their time was limited with the introduction of affordable flash storage a few years later.

Here's one that's really in the OP's spirit: those half size compressed cans of deodorant.

http://www.compresseddeodorants.com/

At one point a few months it was almost impossible to be normal cans of (e.g.) Sure, as they seemed to all be the little ones.

Last few times I've looked in the supermarket they seemed to have reverted to normal cans.

Good thing: the compressed ones were st. Half the size and only lasted half as long IME.

Yeah how st were they? Claims they last just as long were absolute bks. Gives me small faith in society that at least we're not stupid enough to fall for that one.

Stars and Stripes flag lapel badges. Certainly in the UK.

After 911, I'd see a lot of them worn by lawyer types I drank with at the time.

Hunt's wearing an NHS badge in a similar manner. Why? To remind him he's the Secretary of State for Health?

Have we had posh Ford's and Vauxhall's yet.

There was a time when I'd have been very happy to see my Dad order a Carlton Royale or Granada.

Probably more to do with the dire congestion we have and they will be used in those times most of the time so why not make it more relaxing.

A stick shifter in any of those excl the M5 is really a waste. 520d lol wtf stick shift.
Actually it’s more economical too so Auto is the way

Ford have fairly recently reintroduced "posh" models with the Vignale range.

Hahaha! Wow - I remember having a pair of those. They were actually rather crap, because if you were running and tried to turn then the studs would spin until they were at the point of most resistance (hard to explain) and you'd end up all over the place.
