UK book sales are on the increase up year on year for the last 5 years or so. Like vinyl there is a bit of a resurgence.
I spent a couple of hours on a train last week and I remember commenting to my colleague that every set of seats around me had somebody reading an actual book. First time I've consciously noticed people not on ereaders.

Reversing round a corner.

Everyone seems to feel entitled to do a three point turn instead on main roads as if they are somehow more important.

Boils my juices right up to 10!
Poor visibility from the rear combined with lazy driving and walls built up right near the curb. Its now easier to do a 3 point turn than to reverse around a corner.

I'm more concerned that people aren't being taught how to set up their mirrors properly or look both ways before crossing the road these days... and don't even think about muttering "millennial" as the biggest culprits of just stepping out without looking are OAPs... especially one's on mobility scooters, they'll just shoot out into the road without warning, zero fks given.

But you also need to know about ablaut reduplication or one would write "bad big wolf" rather than "big bad wolf".

Its one of those things that comes back every few years as THE NEXT BIG THING and then quietly dies in a corner. See also: 3D movies.

Possibly one day when we get a proper 3d hologram projected into our living rooms that does not require any eye stuff to view or interact with, then we might be onto something.

yes but that isn't anything to do with the technology, it's to do with the media and how it presents advancements in technology and science. AI is the next one of those, but to be fair that one has been flip-flopping between 'the future of everything' and 'complete waste of time' since computers were invented.

The "Farting in the Office" thread seems to have died a death. I'd love to know why.
Because all the 12-year-olds who used their Dad's sign-in to post made up tales on here are back at school and busy doing their homework. This is obviously the case as we all know that no adult would post such pathetic juvenile nonsense. Would they? I'm sure you're far too grown up and intelligent to do it.

Farting is very much allowed in place of work, everyone up to the CIO sits and lets their pressure go with a good old laugh after.
