My spelling is pretty good, but even though I touch-type at work, I am seemingly unable to type anything of the ‘ uld’ family correctly.

I appear to have trained myself to type the following

Wolud & colud instead of would & could

Strangely I have no issue with ‘should’ etc, it’s only the 5-letter ones. Buggered if I know why.

Top tip: Annoy your work colleagues by going into their user dictionary auto-correct settings & changing something innocuous like “regards” to “I hope you die you miserable excuse for a person”. (other, more sweary options are available of course)

Surprising how many people stop leaving their computers unlocked after sending an email or two like that. laugh This may explain why I’ve been wfh since October.

I'm not sure whether to advise you to see a doctor spin

Unnecessary. I can spell it, I do have to have a good think about it first though.

I'm dyslexic so a few...

January, February are ones that I hate for 59 days a year...

I struggle with bought and brought when to use each one.

I'm fine with their, there and they're though.

There is a load more, but I can't remember them all!

Definitely

Colleague

Liaise

I struggle with those every time and have to consciously think about what I'm writing.

I think I've vented my spleen on this in the "Things that annoy you beyond reason" thread, but the number of PH-ers who seemingly can't differentiate between "loose" and "lose" drives me spare.

My own spelling is of course beyond reproach wink Although floccinaucinihilipilification is always a challenge.

I know how to start spelling it, just not sure how to stop.

I only know it is rhythm as its the model of a camper van
I remember my English teacher in first year (year 7 for you youngsters) telling us Rhythm Has Your Toes Happily Moving.

Loads these days , I used to be pretty good until I had a stroke 9 years ago .
These days spelling, punctuation , mental arithmetic and memory are all shot to bits .
Even when I do get it right it looks wrong .

If I had to write a sentence about manoeuvring and heamorrhoids it would be a real pain in the bum, fortunately I don't.

Me too. Very often the spell checker doesn't know wtf I'm trying to spell and have tried google and that can't help either, I've even struggled to find words in the dictionary. The annoying thing is I can spot spelling mistakes a mile off, but don't necessarily (that took two attempts to spell correctly) know what the correct spelling is, just that it's wrong.
Yeah , this is me as well . You know it's bad when the auto correct hasn't got a clue what your trying to spell ! But I love to read , far more than watching the box , but my spelling is comedy bad . st at maths as well , I am a educational failure .
