Afternoon all.

Norfolk is doing us proud, the black cloud was give the slip around the Thetford area and I haven't seen the bugger since. Thank the Lord.

The fridge magnet business is causing some consternation though, our fridge is one of those built in things so the magnet won't adhere to it naturally. I thought of bolting a sheet of steel chequer plate to it, Mrs B reckons a bit of blu tac might be more aesthetically pleasing.

Any thoughts?
I had a similar problem, but easily resolved with a bit of two inch boiler plate hot riveted in place. Hey presto job jobbed.
And as we say - a job jobbed is a job well done.

I've sucked all the pics from the last 2 days into the laptop ,I don't have any Fabio location pics apart from this.....

I've given this snappy title to this pic.

Fabio in a field with an Austrian SAAB.

The car parking bloke in the Thursday car park was utterly useless.

The Friday car park had no bloke and it was semi organised in a chaotic way.

Fun fact - there was a matching caravan designed to go with that Saab. The fore and aft windows on the caravan were designed to be at the same level as the car windows, so one could see all the way through when towing.

I thought I had a better picture, but this is the only one I can find. You can just see the leading edge of the caravan. This was from the Saab museum in Trollhattan, over in that there Sverige.

I went to the museum in Trollhatten too in 2010 ,when my Cosworth surprisingly made it to Scandinavia and back without

borking.

All the pics are MIA on an old laptop.

Luckily the museum was preserved in the public interest when SAAB went tits out.

Weather at Hockenheim for the F1 is very different from where I was the last 2 days ,only about 100 ish miles away.

I'm almost glad I didn't stay a 3rd day if it was wet.

I saved 5 euros by not doing the Saturday.

Rain threatened yesterday but never really happened.

What ho chaps, welcome back Peri, glad you escaped the cloud Bomma.
The Rover started making some strange noises around the steering area, moaning and grumbling but only at low speeds and only when warmed up, left work at 3pm today and decided I'd investigate, one of the pipes with a metal section going to/from the reservoir is chaffed nearly through and has a nasty bend in it, the belt which drives it has seen better days too so I'll replace both and see if that cures it!!!

Nice to see you back anyway, Peri.

I was there in 2013 and as far as I know, it’s still going.

Just received an amazon express delivery that I made 11am today. what vehicle was the delivery driver in?

was it a ford transit type van? no
was it something smaller like a berlingo or fiesta type van? no

it was a nissan quashqa.

how strange. i peered through the window as he went back to his car and the boot and back seat was stuffed with parcels.

I don't suppose this was reported anywhere but the 00.30 ferry to Dover was delayed due to a swimmer in the harbour.

Lots of port people gathered on the quay side, then les flics turned up in 6 vans, then a small boat chugged out to fish out the miscreant.
Then we set off.
I wonder if that's a new way to get to England, hang onto the outside of a ship for 1.5 hours.

It’s shorter (by about 5cm, temporarily) but better. I’m even upping the rate of turning to six quarter turns a day (three lots of two). The consultant is very happy with the amount of new bone growth, so to give things a bit of a boost after the inactivity, we are going to do five days of six quarter turns, then back to four quarter turns a day. The stuff that’s already been laid down is apparently good stuff and strong, so a bit of good news after the last couple of weeks.

It’s a bit strange adjusting to legs that aren’t the same length, although I’m non weight bearing on the damaged one anyway. It’ll eventually end up longer, then reduced to the same length with some more surgery. The main thing for now is keeping the infections under control.

The PICC line is up and running and I’m on IV antibiotics four times a day while I’m in hospital, coupled with the stuff that’s laced into the new cement plug inside my leg, filling most of the void. When I go home, it will be one lot of IV a day.

I didn't realise they'd put another plug in to help with the antibiotics!! At least it's a step in the right direction (no pun intended!!).

There’s a picture a few posts back. I think it put DickyC or Bomma220 off their “daily routine”... that’s the other good news, for me anyway; I’ve been able to reduce the amount of Oxycodone I’m taking, so consequently, my daily routine is back to normal as well. TMI, probably.

The PICC line goes into a vein on my bicep then travels down to the superior vena cava, behind the heart. It gets flushed with saline before and after it’s used, whether that’s drugs in or blood out. Because of the increased infection risk with where the end of the tube is, they’re VERY careful about cleaning the “outside” valve with an alcowipe and wearing gloves whenever they do anything as well.

Although the end is deep inside a blood vessel, when it gets flushed with saline, I get a chemical/metallic taste at the back of my throat. This happened when I had a PICC line in before, but it is very odd indeed, although not at all unusual, apparently. It’s a very, very strange sensation!

Might as well sell all my toilet roll on eBay for all the good it’ll do me know.

Sorry, V6!

It is a bizarre reaction to have, if you don’t mind me saying?

I took my big Group B book to Germany to get more autographs.

I had I think 6 already but added twice that many yesterday ,although some are a bit unknown ,3 of them id never heard of before

but didn't want to be rude by only asking the star drivers to sign it.

I have a pic on the phone of the biggest names at the autograph session.
