We’re in Kalkan it’s somewhere on the edge of Turkey I presume as the sea is visible.
Hopefully that’s enough to go on just in case we need flotilla backup.

Do you need the Belfast? We'll need to find a Captain, I'm sure Salty Seymour would be up for it. I can call him if necessary.

Don't worry, normal service will be resumed as soon as I feel a bit better.

You're too modest, Gog.

Still debating my first foray into TVRness. I'd like a late 60s or early 70s Vixen or Tuscan and have done since they were current. The problem is userbility over repairability. Would a later one be a safer bet to start with for my branch of the real world?

Space is always a problem.

A wheeze I have been considering is to replace my daily and the truck with a 4x4 and a trailer. If I get pushed for space I just put something on the trailer.

You seem to have gone off on one there, Dicky.

Yes, sorry, I'm a bit hungover.
I can certainly help with establishing an Aquisition Department for the earlier TVR idea. I go up to 1974 then after that Glenrobbo et al need to take over.

And I don’t think news of her fate has reached here yet. Let alone her marriage.

Lunch?

At 22:06?

That is definitely not lunch, Bobbers.
It is late supper

Unless you have become a person of the night?

In which case lunch is a lovely drop of fresh tasty blood from the neck of a virgin lick

Life throws some odd things at you. My mum is reaching the end of her life and I've been spending more and more time with her. Neither she nor I want me to do any of her nursing but when I'm there as her companion she can attend to herself. She insisted Mrs C and I had our long planned break in the Lake District. My brother was to cover for me. She rang yesterday in despair. He was in the kitchen, ranting, going through her cupboards calling out the long passed Use By dates on things he was throwing away. She hadn't asked him to take on this job. It was like he wanted a reason for a rant. His main complaint was too many varieties of things opened and not finished. Five different sorts of biscuits, all opened, all unfinished.

When I get to 89, particularly if I'm unwell, I reserve the right to have whichever biscuits I like and eat them in a manner of my choosing.

Dicky, your brother sounds like a cruel heartless inconsiderate incompassionate bugger if you don't mind me saying so. irked

Does he not understand the meaning of the word "caring"?

It must be very unsettling for your poor old Mum.
All she wants is amiable company and somebody to carry out any tasks that she can no longer manage.
What's wrong with the bloke? Has she ever treated him cruelly?

She should send him to bed without any supper or make him sit on the naughty step to consider his behaviour! nono

Sorry to hear that Dicky, unfortunately people can be very cruel, I watched my dad and brother treat my granddad very poorly and there was very little I could do about it, if your relationship with him is strong enough I'd suggest a chat about his attitude, maybe explain that at her age she's entitled to eat as and when whatever she wants.

You could well be right, he may not be able to cope with mums decline and is reacting that way as he doesn't know how to react, the issues between my dad and granddad went back to childhood, the issue with my brother and granddad were because he saw my dad and nan treat him that way and thought it was the norm.

We, my mother and I, have never got on so well. I ignored my parents' life, career and marriage advice - it wasn't personal, I ignored everyone's advice - whereas Pete bought it hook, line and sinker. And wow does he resent it now. Bit late, mate. Might as well accept it. Now you've retired and all. The life lesson he never learned was you have to play the hand you were dealt. Resenting the way your life is going is a recipe for wretchedness.
