I went out,weather was okay.
I went to the "grand prix de Farnham" ,a celebration of Mike Hawthorne's world championship 60 years ago.
They drive old cars round a closed section of the town.

That's the only phone pic I have.

Just watched that clip cherryowen, very nice, what's the guitar you're using in it?
thumbup

It's an Ibanez SA360. Had it about 18 months now and although it's not as flash or expensive as some of the kit on the Look At Our Guitars thread in the music section, it looks fantastic. Got a Fender Princeton amp just over 12 months ago (didn't sound that good through my Vox amp), and the combination has transformed how and what I play these days.

In other news, if anyone hasn't seen the flick Layer Cake and you have the chance, watch it. Brilliant film, and a great performance by Daniel Craig (it was on some obscure film channel this afternoon). Great soundtrack as well, with a really moody piece by F.C. Kahuna.

Nope definitely an enigmatic ending, and yes great film and great sound track!! In a similar vein "Snatch" is my all time favourite film!!!

Granddaughter coming over tomorrow. An exiting day of pirates, dolls tea party, Hide and seek, jumping all over me, and a game of snakes and ladders with a story or two. Exhausting but pleasantly so.rotate

Thats scores a solid 8 on the trivialometer

In other news Im not a grandparent and tbh I'm not sure how I feel about the idea, luckily my older kids are either at uni or heading that way soon so I dont really need to worry about it for another 5 or 6 years at least. The scary thing for me is that there are people I went to school with that have been a grandparent for 10 years ish and I havent hit 50 yet

There’s a chap I knew locally, let’s call him Nick (primarily as that’s what his mum said when he was born)....
Grandfather at 35.
Related to this, but not realised at the time, was a classmate of mine Charlotte who had to be ‘taken out of shool’ age 15 11/12ths.

It's still honking it with rain here. I've taken Grandbomma back home, she enjoyed her roast pork lunch.

Anyhow, on the way back home I followed an old Austin Maxi. There can't be many of them about anymore?

I remember my old mum & dad's neighbour had one, apparently if you folded the rear seats down it would accommodate a double mattress which would have made it into a camper sort of thing.

I expect there's a lot of cars you could do that with now, this was in 1975 though.

I'll belt up if I'm boring anyone.

I have bumped my post from the early hours of this morning to help cheer up our Bomma.

It's a blast from the past from a special kind of nutter whose work I always admired.

Here's my favourite car I saw today in Farnham ,unsurprisingly a FIAT ,an Abarth 750.

Weird or what ?

Probably why only 3 were made according to a bloke on here.

I'm just glad I saw 1/3 of the production of them and that it's survived.

where's the other 2 ?

ETA better pic now in wrong place

Morning chaps wavey it appears to be very mild here this morning, it's the middle of sodding October for Christ's sake!!!!

I did have a bit of a watch of that Victor Borge video yesterday glenrobbo, he was a very funny and clever man!!!

I actually think that Fiat is quite funky looking Peri, why were only 3 made?
