Just been looking at the Retropower article, craigjim found the link for me for the little yellow Hillman Imp, what a great little thing that's going to be when finished, I have very fond memories of the little green Imp we had when I was younger!!! smile

Morning all.

Sat on Platform 10 at Bristol Temple Meads waiting for my next train, it’s rather moist here.

Well it's been a lazy afternoon in the Bobbers household, which was quite nice to be honest!!!
Error alert. I named the Kinks as purveyors of said Lazy Sunday, but of course as everybody knows it was the Small Faces, circa 1968.banghead

Not from me it’s not. Train is booked to be one of the new Super Hitachi Intercity Trains, I couldn’t be less excited about the prospect of working on one. I want my proper trains back.

To be fair on yourself, NS, there is only a very fine line between "Lazy Sunday Afternoon" and "Lazing on a Sunny Afternoon".

I would hazard a guess that if you hadn't "fessed up"", nobody would have noticed.

scratchchin Except it wasn't very sunny. wink

Good of you to admit it nonseq, but to be honest I wouldn't have known any different, being such a youngster as I am and these songs being wwaaaayyyyyy before my time!!!! yes

I have grafted many long nightshift hours on the good old HST sets. ( Midland Mainline )
If I had a pound for every brake block or pad I have replaced, I would be a rich man. ££££££

Or perhaps comfortably well off... smile

Scott, are you a driver or a guard?

The first time I ever heard of Hitachi was back in the 70's.
They made portable radio/compact cassette recorders. I bought one when I was out in Hong Kong, it was about one third of the UK price at the time.

With the profit they made from my purchase, they went on to make ships, trains & other heavy engineered stuff.

So I hold myself responsible for the decline in British Industry. frown .
Sorry. . paperbag

Guard.

The HSTs are great, ideal for long distance work. The IETs (800/802) are a massive pile of wk by comparison, not fit for the job. No luggage space, no buffet car, no comfort, no ability to fix them (can only be fixed by Hitachi), not as quick on diesel, the fitment of the diesels is a bodge...

It’s fair to say I’m not keen on them.

Only by a mere 200 miles.
In car news,I had a new problem yesterday, returned to the FIAT place and he reassured me that some liquid was burning off and it'll be fine.
So road trip forthcoming.......soon.
The poster that said only 3 were made of the funky FIAT said that Carlo Abarth didn't like the shape of it but that may be heresay.
