es.....90mph 5th gear shredded and dumped bits into the other gears causing gearbox to instantly lock and car span twice! That was an Underpants moment!
Aquaplaned going northbound on M23 car span around in the outside lane, I was facing a sea of white headlights in pouring rain, dumped my foot on the clutch and braced for impact while going backwards! Drifted across 3 lanes, accross chevrons across the two exit lanes to the M25 and car coasted to a stop in the hard shoulder where I applied the brakes. I had hit nothing, and there were no other accidents as a result of the car spinning backwards, I don't think I have ever been so scared as I was at that moment!
A white van man pulled up and asked me if I was OK, when I replied I think so, he said that was the best thing he had ever seen!
Took car to lemans a couple of times, second time it caught fire causing 7.5k of damage!
mate burnt his arm. we had 3ft flames lapping up the windshield!
Got the car rebuilt and sold it. Phew........ So what do you then buy when you have had a Cobra.....A Viper, never looked back.
The 5th gear gearbox locking incident wasnt on the way to leMans too was it?
I remember seeing one on a transporter in the circuit and got chatting to the owner, I think he had needed a fresh set of undies after his cobra span on the autoroute at high speed leaving big black stripes down the road (and brown ones in his pants I guess) but he managed to not hit anything
Yes it was on the way to le mans, and the car was on a recovery truck but the car got taken to Beaumont la sarthe, I got a renault megane the next day, drove to the garage then towed the car to the campsite, (I was staying on Houx). So it may not have been my one?

I have a new watch, that makes 8 now, hands up if you'd like to see it?
Pics, of course, required!

yes

Not sayin' I'm a horogo horopol horolophi watch geek, but I do like a nice timepiece. Fair play for adding no.8; I got to no.4 a few months ago and honestly can't justify any more than that.
As requested by yourself and glenrobbo, a couple of pictures of my latest watch, Accurist Skymaster in brown.

Using information gleaned from the photos, it takes three minutes to strap on this type of watch.

Is this correct?

Dicky, I can't believe you're talking about strap-ons at this time of day. rolleyes

But it's a fine looking bit of wrist-candy to be sure, Bobbers. smile

scratchchin Shouldn't it be "Accuwrist"?

confused What exactly is the top segment? Is it a compass or a sundial?

Considering the fat sausage fingers I have that would be a correct assessment of the required application time Dicky!!! yes

He does like a nice strap on, prefers the highly polished walnut one apparently. We are talking about truncheons aren't we????
I believe the top part is a hydrometricbaromometer, glenrobbo!! yes

Where the hell did I put the instructions, how am I supposed to know what all the pretty dials do? What sort of question is that to ask when everyone knows I only bought it because it was pretty!!!!!

Right that's the kitchen cleaned, the bins emptied and washed out, downstairs dusted and Vaxed (as per glenrobbo we don't have a "Hoover") now off to clean the bathroom, from now on I wish to be called "Cinderbobbers", or at least until the cleaning is done anyway!!!

I dearly wish I was on the train too, was so looking forward to the do.

Bloody knee's still painful despite a couple of rounds of tramadol sandwiches.

Oh, and the accommodation I'd booked won't give me a refund as I hadn't given 48 hours notice of cancellation. I only had the accident yesterday, do they think I'm a sodding clairvoyant? grumpy
