Looking at ring door bells and alarm, they are reduced but are they any good? Pro door bell with chime has 7-9 weeks dispatch!!
They're st.
That's what's always put me off buying one. They seem to get consistently bad reviews.
I had a Ring doorbell which I never mounted because it didn't work well enough even when inside the house.

I eventually bought the Eufy equivalent and it's been really good for the price. The ability to store recordings without paying for cloud storage was attractive, but it just seems to work where the Ring didn't. There is no lag at all from pushing the bell to the ring coming through the chime and/or my phone and talking to someone through the app is good too.

The only slight disappointment is the Echo Show integration - it's so laggy that the caller would have left by the time it connects!

Ring Spotlight Cam £119 from £179

Ring Floodlight Cam £119 from £179

Amazon Firestick 4K £26.99 from £49.99

Amazon Echo Dot 4th Edition £24.99 from £49.99

PS4 Gaming headset £11.99 from £23.99

Was going to buy them anyway but waited for Prime Day as I had a feeling they would be reduced.

Yes, I know, 'eaching grandma to suck eggs, but as a PSA please remember to use CamelCamelCamel or Keepa to check that the 'Prime Day' offer is really as good as it seems.

Did managed to get my usual Prime Day / Black Friday purchase of 'cheap' Logitech MX Master (Amazon version) mice for £33/each - probably got about 6 year's worth of them now smile

Indeed - I was thinking about a Ninja Air Fryer for £109 only to see that it's sometimes down to £89 according to CCC. I will snaffle a Firestick 4K though.

Was going to get an EV electric lawnmower as my petrol one is on last legs - seemingly good deals on Bosch ones but many more knowledgeable reviewers with more than a flat small patch of grass leave scathing reviews. They also don't self propel. https://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyRotak-Cordless-Lawnmo... 160cc 4 stroke ones with twice the cuttiong width available and made of metal...

Got an Echo Dot cheap as chips with an alarm clock so the whole house is intercommed now - can sell my dinner gong on E Bay ;-)

Can I recommend Keepa too - it pinged me this am to bag an Anker powerbank on a Lightning deal i'd been stalking for months - very handy with the drone etc

Do I 'need' a 4K Firestick? I have the Amazon Prime TV app on my Sky Q, so I guess not?

Also, been thinking about a couple of the Blink Security Cameras for ages now, as they were always free cloud storage but it looks like Amazon are going to start charging for that soon? Guess that's not really worth it now either, on that basis?

You can also run Plex, Netflix, etc on them if that's of interest to you, however IMO the Chromecast with Google TV is better.

Last years Prime Day deals, I bought a DA Polisher. 2 weeks later it was the same price. Bag O'ste most of the time.

Just get the Dot 4 with built in clock if you won't use the screen much
Thanks- looking at other comments also I think the dot with built in clock is a better option.

Bought an ACEPC mini PC and got just under £100 off. This one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B089WCSPDZ

Made it cheaper than the lesser specced ones I had been looking at so a no brainer really. It’s not the most powerful, but it only going to sit in our garden room so we can can watch dodgy F1 streams without having to grab my son’s MacBook every race weekend.

Also a long, flat HDMI cable to go with it.

Won a Logitech media keyboard on eBay last night and paid - Amazon have it on offer today for about £7 less than I paid. Ah well….
Can’t help but be impressed with Amazon. Ordered at 05:48 on one of their busiest days of the year, delivered at 17:59

The PC is tiny - 13cm square by 4.5cm tall and weights basically nothing. Really quite impressive!

If you don't actually need the clock, then the non clock version is £10 less.

I have 3 Echos and have never thought that I needed a clock! "Alexa, what's the time?"

Every time Amazon do these days, black Friday, prime day etc. i genuinely can't find anything I need.

I would not be welcome on the frivolous thread...

Its handy for stuff like timers too if you have one in the kitchen etc, or as a clock radio type thing in the bedroom.
