I have just bought two Philips TV's and found them to be good, but I got the ambilight versions. I thought they were a bit council before buying them but fk me I couldn't go back to buying a tele now that doesn't glow up my entire wall. (warning, only buy if your wall has been recently plastered, otherwise it could bug the tits off you).

Ordered a pair of Salomon Speedcross 4 for £69 which is about the best price I've ever found them for so happy with that.

Nothings beating the mis-priced Arlo CCTV from a few years though with its £850 discount though biggrin
Got mine from Sigma Sports in 2018 for £64 (£5 of which was delivery). Love my Speedcross 4s and still going smile

8546 v 8556 - seem very similar.

Always take Amazon savings with a large dose of salts.

Have no idea what the 46/56 differences are but headline seem similar.

I've switched from camelcamelcamel to the Keepa plugin as it shows the price history in realtime on the page and also lets you easily compare without leaving the product page the prices from Amazon EU which are prime delivery, saved a lot on tools over the years by buying from Germany.

https://keepa.com/

Currently Amazon on their homepage is recommending me a router at a significant 45% discount but if you look at the plugin then it's the same price it was a month ago, they jacked up the price for a couple of weeks to make it look like a significant saving.

rofl Had a 50 inch Philips TV with that Ambilight thing for about 5 years now, biggest load of st ever imo - turned it on a couple of times and never used it again!

Another for ambilight must be getting on for 6 years now and wouldn’t buy a TV without.

+1 for Ambilight. Apart from when you toddler turns it on to 'follow sound' and you think you're having a epileptic fit as a result biggrin

I tried that when I first had it, at night when I didn't have the 'big light' on, the room went dark every time it went quiet. It's just a good job I wasn't watching a jump scare horror film hehe .

Prime exclusive early access sale.

I've found a few goodies, saved a (genuine) £300 on a Philips 4k telly, I know because I've been watching it for ages.
And a few hundred off (possibly an Acer oled laptop. So I'm quite happy.
Please could you provide a link to the telly, I’m in the market for one and am hoping you fully researched the market and can save me hours of research. biggrin
See if this works (remember they only keep x units for these things, so stocks may be low/not there now)

Thats a good deal for an ambilight. I bought a 43 inch last year for £379 so a hair more for the much bigger 50 is a great deal, and probably that has a better OS too

I'm repeating myself but I absolutely love Echo Dots. At £17, it's the cheapest the Dot 3 has ever been. https://amzn.to/3CSHoLS

I am not sure I am bothered about getting the ball-shaped one. Looks more clumpsy and intrusive.

PS I have 3 Dots... dotted... around the house.

PPS I couldn't ever date a woman called Alexa because I'd probably shout commands at her. biggrin

They were £428 back in July, so still a reasonable saving.

I was about to go ahead and order that Philips telly before I read one of the reviews saying that the user runs a Fire Stick with it due to slightly poor software on the TV for streaming apps. I'm thinking about a new one because my ageing Samsung is a bit annoying on that front, so I guess I'll pick up a discounted Fire Stick and see how that goes :-). I got a kids' tablet for cheap too, happy days for a bound-to-be-popular Christmas present!
Probably every TV I’ve used from cheap to expensive the built in software is crap. It would be nice if they just binned it off as I suspect a large portion of those accessing that type of content are doing it through a 3rd party piece of hardware.
What are you using it for? My Sony runs android which works pretty well and me LG uses their OS and that also works fine. I only use it to access the various streaming apps though.

My Ambilight runs Android TV too, it's basically the same as a Google TV or new Chromecast software (the white ones with a remote and apps, not the original black HDMI stick type you used from your phone)
