Nonsense. Software and system development (unless things have changed for the worse since my day).
Are you saying the programme is nonsense or the quote? The programme is full of ex top execs from the industry explaining the workings of social media.
Strange how they all say that their kids arent allowed to be on social media.

Anyhow, its the quote thread and its a true quote...

Some Hayek quotes

“From the fact that people are very different it follows that, if we treat them equally, the result must be inequality in their actual position, and that the only way to place them in an equal position would be to treat them differently. Equality before the law and material equality are therefore not only different but are in conflict with each other; and we can achieve either one or the other, but not both at the same time”

"Emergencies' have always been the pretext on which the safeguards of individual liberty have been eroded."

Continuing your war theme...

French Marshal Pierre Bosquet stated: "C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas la guerre." ("It is magnificent, but it is not war.")
He continued, in a rarely quoted phrase: "C'est de la folie." ("It is madness.")

He had just witnessed the Charge of the Light Brigade at the Battle of Balaclava during the Crimean War.

I think this one is from Scott Adams the Dilbert guy.

"If you want something, find out the price, make the sacrifice required, and pay it. It's not complicated."

Or perhaps you can but the seller thinks that leaving the price off makes it seem more 'exclusive' when it's actually just really, really annoying.

Presumably you had the sense to check the label before you climbed in?

It may be a good quote, but what does it actually mean?

"If it wasn't for the drugs I'd be in the gutter."
My housemate in Clapham having a wide eyed conversation with my boss at the time after I'd foolishly invitedhim to one of our house parties.
She was hilarious, beautiful, incredibly bright and very wealthy. She used to get into my bed for snuggles, usually as the sun was rising!
Oh Sarah, where are you now?

Quite true Ari, looking at it as it is, but when I posted it, I was thinking of the times when I’d sat on the taxi rank at Victoria Coach Station, London, and thought it, but NEVER voiced it, when approached by a scruffy guy in a shell suit, who’d just paid about a fiver to travel over 200 miles from Blackpool, and was asking me, “How much to Fulham mate?”
I was never churlish enough to say it, but I couldn’t help thinking it.
