Don't forget it's warming up after the snow - so I suspect very few people will get snowed in for long smile

This is absolutely only just for fun. This will not happen like this. It is just for fun. The models will change a lot between now and then. Most models don't support this evolution of the charts.

This, is a white Christmas Eve...

Yellow snow warning has stretched south - roughly a line east/west through Oxford.

My friend said it's snowing in Worthing but there's no snow here - just cold, dim and cloudy.

UK Outlook for Saturday 29 Dec 2018 to Saturday 12 Jan 2019:
The start of this period is most likely to be unsettled with the continuation of wet and windy weather pushing in from the west. Through the first half of January there is an increasing likelihood for it to turn colder bringing the increased risk of winter hazards, especially frost and fog. Some snow is also likely with temperatures expected to fall below normal. However, there is uncertainty in the timing of this change to turn colder, and it could come before the end of December.

I hate to point it out, but that's not a forecast. That's just a description of what happens every January.

Just like the phrase "Sunny periods with a chance of rain later" would probably cover most days in the UK hehe

Met office don't often talk like that - they're seeing what everyone else is seeing and I've been wittering about for a short while smile

Anyway - Amber snow warning for the Cairngorms. So I'm guessing it's going to be biblical up there!

Have a look at the webcam at the Cairngorms weather station below, it looks serious

Bitterly cold this morning. Thick frost everywhere, but clear as a bell. Think it's going to be a cold bright day.

Tomorrow afternoon looks interesting, but we'll see...

With the freezing rain on the way it's heartening that I haven't seen a single gritter out in the Aire Valley.

That'll be fun...

Today's charts are a horror show for Christmas. Up and down, but certainly lowers the chance of anything festive on the big day.

Who's got snow?
