Bought a Barbour Gillingham in John Lewis a little while back.
Nice and warm, keeps the rain out and not bulky at all.

Also doesn't look too 'country' which is good, living in London.
Like that. Is it warm enough? Guess it's hard to tell given its not cold yet...Nice and warm, keeps the rain out and not bulky at all.

Looks suspiciously cheap?
I bought one last year after countless recomendations & it was my 'go to' winter coat, will be again this year.
Have a Rab down jacket & various others but the Sapper is my favourite, warm enough (especially with a scarf), showerproof, smart enough for most occasions yet looks good with jeans.
Casual: PHD - it's like wearing hot air - https://www.phdesigns.co.uk/waferlite-down-jacket-...
Town: Barbour Commander - needs a jumper too.
Slobbing: RAB Vapour-rise smock. [Discontinued but the jacket version looks as good].
If it's pishing doon and I'm going to be out for a long time then an OMM smock, not very aesthetic but keeps you dry.

Layering up this year.
Smartwool 200 merino base layer and a fleece and I hope to live up to my username.

Layering is defo key and this will be the first winter where I'll be doing it properly. Base layer, then a normal casual shirt/polo etc and then my new Infinity G

I've got a Rab Generator Smock like this one
Same material as yours. Had it for about 10 years now and not had any issues with it ripping or snagging. Very made and surprisingly durable.

I'm after some too.
budget. max £100. less the better
style - rather plain. but I'm only 30yrs old, so i don;t want to look like farmer or some old guy. dont mind a sports brand but i don't want big logos.
material - lightweight and movable. i don't want some kind of heavy/thick/restrictive peacoat.
basically i want something that's light, technical, good deal of pockets. a removable fleece would be cool as it means i could basically go to work in a tshirt. at the same time I'd a little bit of a chubby/ stocky person with some muscle so i think one of those down jackets would be suitable for me as I'd pretty much look like the michellin man.,
going off on a tangent I'd rather like some kind of parka too, either black or green with a miltary style, to suit the kind of person into rock music. or a navy parka with a faux collar, handsome looking.
Trespass do cheap and cheerful stuff with removable fleeces. Would fail on the pocket side of things though. The link below advertises two pockets, but it may have a non-zip pocket inside like mine does. budget. max £100. less the better

If you run hot like me they're okay in high wind and waterproof up to heavy-ish rain. However if you get caught out in both heavy enough rain and high wind you'll know you only spent circa £40.

Or there's this:

Lightweight, within budget and only a small logo but skimps on the pockets again.
Parka-wise, here's an Oasis-style (I think) one: http://www.burton.co.uk/en/bruk/product/clothing-2...
A quick search for a navy one only brought up an over-budget Superdry one.

AFAIK out and out, breathable down jackets with a bit of utility you'd struggle with the exception of decent sales offers to get one for £100 or less.
