Thank you.

I'm looking at the more sailing themed but stuff you'd be able to wear anywhere styles.

Stuff like Fjallraven and Arcteryx just looks so sodding expensive and especially when buying unseen.
As others have said in the thread, there is also a risk of some stuff being bonkers hot. Fine if you're hiking to the North Pole, less good for visiting M&S food hall.

Still £300 which feels a lot.

This is what I was looking at.

But can't see in person and can't work out whether it's a bit Roy Cropper hehe
It depends, I think, what you look like.

This probably looks good in a sort of not making a statement kind of way: https://www.musto.com/en_GB/marina-field-jacket/82...

Not clear why it has had a mediocre review. Could easily be "Ad didn't say that it didn't have a [insert random feature here]"

I practically live in one of these once summer is over:

incredibly well made and versatile. Not my usual thing, but once tried it became a firm fixture.
Ordered a heavyweight merino in mustard yellow.

They look like quality.

Thanks for the link.
Unfortunately, Justayellowbadge passed away recently so he isn't around to receive your thanks.

I've not bought any clothes for ages but I just treated myself to this:

If you want a flying jacket. Go with the real deal.

It will be way too warm to wear 99% of the time
Am I the only one who thinks that jacket could benefit from being dragged behind a car for a while? Too shiny, too perfect.
I don't want to denigrate the chap's new jacket, but to my eye it has a number of challenges. The zip crookedness being one.

It doesn't look distressed, it just looks like it hasn't been put together correctly - which is probably the truth of the matter. Generally, well-used zipped clothes, if they are of decent, don't end up with a wonky zip.

Unless you fly a B52, they can create a bit of an image problem.

Good for them?

I couldn't stomach over a grand on the Moorer one I fancied so at half price I've already got a bargain. Although I'll probably man up and get the Moorer one too. smile

I've been a 40 for ages but it seems I'm shrinking.

Model was sad because they gave him a coat two sizes too small.
